When Tri came out, I got the bundle with the Classic Controller Pro at Future Shop (shout out to my Canadians for understanding that reference) on clearance. I was hooked. When Tri G got announced I was hoping it would come here, and when 3U dropped I got it day one on Wii U. I got even more hooked, but I lent it to a friend so that they could see what’s up. However, I wanted to play it so badly that I got a 3DS copy so we could play together. I wound up getting it digitally so I could give my physical copy to my other friend for their birthday, and we’ve all been playing the series since.

There is no difficulty selection in MH, the hunt is as hard as the monster itself, it gives the monsters identity, when you hear someone complaining about MH is never about how hard the game itself is, but rather how hard and bullsh!t a monster is.

Even when I would be afk... just having this game playing the music in the background was so relaxing! It's such nostalgia to hear it again and I miss Cha-Cha! He was a little shit, but he became my friend and I really did worry in the end when he dissappered... thank god he came back so we could kick ass again, lol. ; D

Waaaait a minute, this is very heavily inspired by Igor Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring isn't it. That's not a bad thing! The Rite of Spring had some incredible sections. I think Roar - Rathalos was also inspired by it, specifically the section called "Glorification of the Chosen One" (which, fun fact, also partially inspired One-Winged Angel). Parts of The Rite of Spring were played in the background of the ancient Earth/dinosaur section of the original Fantasia, and that might have been part of the reasoning for using it as inspiration for the Deviljho theme. Pretty sure everyone who saw that movie as a kid remembers the part with the T. rex.

I'm doing my first playthrough of GU and I was incredibly sad they didn't use this volcano map. I've never played Tri, but this theme is such a banger. Second only to Lava Caverns as my favorite mainline volcano biome theme.

My favorite thing of this theme is the cello like instrument with these gloomy tones. I also particularly love the build up in mhfu volcano theme. The percussions in most older gen songs are amazing too, take a listen to this one or to the old teostra and rajang theme, to the second gen volcano or swamp theme, absolute bangers, you really felt in danger

The coolest thing is how much Ceadeus and its problem are rooted in reality. There are many Species of Goats or other animals whos Horns can grow to big so that it hurts itself. Normaly thats hurtful and even lethal for the animals but it doesnt cause much enviromental damage due to the animals small size. Once u take this problem to the size of a Whale it becomes a literally much bigger problem. The entire battle and conclusion have such a soft feeling to it. This is no supernatural mega thread, this is a gentle gigant in pain and u are here to help him. As much as i like the later MH Games, Tri was the last one that really felt like u would live in harmony with nature trying to preserve the balance.
