Help me with Anathoth
We are in 2024!.😮!
The English also have a 3rd pronunciation (or 2nd from their perspective) where it's pronounced: "kuhn-trow-vuh-see", in a similar pitch as "introduction".
Interesting, thanks for sharing.
Hi, I wanted to ask you about the phrase"let me clear this out" where it's a little difficult to link between "R" and "Th" and I almost drop the "Th" sound
Hi, I do think we may reduce and/or almost drop that TH in that phrase. I can cover this for you in a future video. In the meantime, here's another look at linking with TH words: kzread.infoYMbuJXKn7jc
Also this, specifically about R and TH linking: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fZ-jtJScj8S_j5M.html

Thanks a ton for the video ❤ I was struggling with this word and dictionary did not even help me with that. ❤
Thanks for watching!
Can you tell me what this word actually is? Is it a name, a phrase, or a place? What language does it come from? Does it have a specific meaning because, I've never seen this word before. Just now stumbled across your video that actually teaches how to pronounce whatever this word or this phrase is. Lol I don't even know how your video came up. I was actually trying to do a generic Google search, or hoping I'd land on a generic word / dictionary pronunciation page. However the system platform did not do that. It put me onto your video, instead. Whatever information you have on this word or phrase would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Hi, it's an Irish name, meaning roughly "beautiful" or "slender and fair." There is an Irish author, Caoilinn Hughes, and actor, Caoilinn Springall who both have this first name.
@@SpeechModification Interesting !! It's almost as if I stretched out my pronunciation far enough I can almost tangentially hear the American name " Carolyn " or, I can hear the linguistic proper noun of the word " Korean ", IF I tried hard enough !!! Thank You for educating, me. (Teacher, here BTW). Lol.
@@SpeechModification Another thought...... it's almost as if I tried hard enough I could almost hear either the American name "Carolyn" or I could hear the language proper noun, of " Korean " while attempting to say, " caoilinn ". I could empathize w/ either position IF, I were to be blamed for having a thick accent, or just badly mispronouncing an Irish name or a word. This teacher here thank you very much for the lesson. Lol.
Thanks <3
Thanks for watching!
You pronounce both completely wrong, using the German pronunciation of the word "doge" which is not the same as the meme doggy.
Incorrect
finally understands this, dropping h sounds - say e-z,
Pls! Meaning?
This is a character's name in a game.
But it's also a Surname that was captured in the 15 century. But I did not know what the meaning is.
@@Ruska-y3b I found this on the web: surnames.behindthename.com/name/wriothesley/submitted
@@SpeechModification Thankyou 😊

Canadian here, commenting because as I'm making my newest youtube video I was wondering if I say it weird or not haha. I say deh-cal, kinda between dee-cal and deck-ull.
Yes, I have a hard time pronouncing Rotterdam, a city in the Netherlands. Ty!
I can cover that in a future video for you. In English, we say "RAH der dam" with AH like father for the first vowel and A like cat for the last vowel. In Dutch they say "rah ter DAHM" with two "ah" vowels and the stress on the last syllable.
0:11 😢😮❤❤
Thank you, Christy. It's a lot of people helped change the English language. Special American accent Thank you so much.
Thanks for watching!
It's a Welsh name. How do they pronounce it ?
Hi, it's actually Germanic in origin, from "adel" meaning noble.
@SpeechModification That's interesting. Thr only people I have ever known or heard of who have the name are Welsh, hence my incorrect assumption.
Apparently Adele has some Welsh family as well, so it's probably a popular name there.
Muchas gracias ❤
Nonsense! No German pronounces it the way described. Generalisations of language rules should always be used with care, there are always exceptions!
One of my friends pronounced it luis-ville one time, that's definitely wrong
Phocally Ephesians
Mam thanks once again for your great efforts!!!!!❤
Thanks u❤
Thank you
Thanks for your skills teaching.
Thanks for your support!
Does fluent mean fast and not articulate?
Your pronunciations are, as the British say, spot-on. Thanks for your work! I’ve easily dissembled countless KZread comments as coming from non-native speakers by noting obvious lack of familiarity with proper use of contractions like these. My only worry is that evil Putin/etc. operatives will master these finer points (instead of proving their ability to embrace diverse voices and nuances that form modern English is nonexistent or limited to casual/racist dismissal).
(I shouldn’t be too hasty in my worry, because apparently Russians still reject use of the English alphabet.)
Assalamu alaikum bhai jaan
Great as always Do you think you could make another video about words like singing or bringing?
Hi, yes, I'd be happy to cover that in a future video. In the meantime, you might find these videos: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dpiCxcl-j5OWZ5c.html, kzread.info/dash/bejne/oIaeo9SMZKqTptI.html, and this video for "singing" to be helpful on getting the ng sound in the middle: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oYhqt7V8Yr3SoNY.html

Please do 'run' and 'runt' (:
Sure, I'd be happy to cover that. In the meantime, for the n vs. nt you might find this video to be helpful: kzread.info/dash/bejne/d6WK16ewgJbQc9I.html
