Reviewing all the Hotels, Flights, Things to Do, and Restaurants in Hawaii, one at a time. I live on Oahu and keep my finger on the pulse of hotels, airlines, and restaurants. I want to share with you my passion for travel and my love for hotels. There is nothing like seeing your hotel in the distance and the feeling of excitement upon arrival. Walking through the lobby on a sunny summer day or a blustery winter evening, it's a feeling you can't get anywhere else. Hearing the chatter of conversation with that tinge of excitement and maybe spoken in languages you don't understand. Checking in, opening the door to your suite....Join me as I share my tips on hotels and guides for locations around the world, not just Hawaii. See you in the lobby.

Locals call Goats “sharky”, referring specifically to Tigers. I have heard there is a nearby freshwater stream that empties into the ocean, and it is also known for being a Tiger shark nursery. (My understanding is that mama Tigers often return to their nurseries every year, not only to give birth, but to mate with males…?) Goat Island is also home to a protected bird sanctuary. Sadly, I do not think there is much to debate as far as what happened in this particular situation. So tragic. 💔
Gotta watch the tides closely right? Dont want to get trapped on the island until the next low tide which can be 10-12 hrs.
Absolutely 👍, and if not sure don’t go.
Who’s here after the shark attack
So sad, just read about it.
lol
Great video! Thanks so much for taking the time to put this together. The wife and I go to Kauai once per year and have been thinking about taking on this hike, so your video is very helpful. Question: It appeared that you were not filtering water when you filled your bottles at the stream. Do you believe that that there is very little risk of giardia?
Just found this video, good job bruddah! This is Terrence 😊
Is there a max time restriction? We arrive from London at 11.30am but our flight to Kauai is only just before 6pm! We’re flying 1st class so hoping to spend as much time in the N lounge snoozing as possible 😊
Great question as a few lounges do have a time rule. Alaska currently says same-day travel so you should be good to go. See here for updated rules - www.alaskaair.com/content/airport-lounge/policies-and-rules
a southwest airlines flight please
Which room was that? A corner view
This was a high floor with Diamond Head view, www.suitesandlobbies.com/moana-surfrider-waikiki-beach/
but its a boeing no thank you they already on the news
It’s a very nice property, but as far as the Four Seasons brand, it doesn’t compare to other FS properties world wide. Even in Hawaii, FS Big Island, FS Maui, and FS Lanai, all blow the Ko Olina location out of the water. But it’s much cheaper than most FS properties. IMO, they need to scrap Ko Olina, and build a proper FS in Waikiki.
It's tough when one of the best FS in the world, FS Hualalai, is just a 45-minute plane ride away. The Ko Olina property is just too small really. Did you hear that the Turtle Bay Resort is going to be a Ritz Carlton?
@@suitesandlobbies No, I didn’t know that!
My happy time always, touching down at KOA !!
My home airport, and yes, Umeke’s is one of the best ahi poke restaurants on the Big Island !!!
I just love our islands and flying here !!
Thank you for showing row 33!!! I’ve been looking all over for that information
Hilo is my Home
Beautiful place. Got kicked out in the 80’s for being too rowdy. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
An interesting story I am sure 😀

work at both hotel
To be truthful, Hawaiian Airlines has the most cramped economy seats in the airline. industry. I won’t fly with them again. Maybe after Alaska Airlines takes over their operations it will be better. But I’m not holding my breath.
Perhaps I'm a stickler for details, but if I'm spending $100's per night at a prime location, at least offer me 100% Kona coffee. I will pay for it. At 10% minimum requirement to be called "Kona Blend," it doesn't seem worth it.
Yes, 100%. Paying extra for 10% is just a pass. If you can try some coffee from the Ka'u district on the Big Island, award winning and starting to make a name for itself.
I had Afternoon Tea here. Truly, the view is the only redeeming quality. The finger sandwiches and pastries were average. However, trying to yield two pots of tea from one tea bag, I found absurd.
Try an evening meal/cocktail at House Without A Key or cocktails at Lewers Lounge if you can.
Let's be clear, Hawaii is ALL about the beach. Hotel pools anywhere are gross; women's hair, men swimming in shorts they've worn around, etc. Royal Hawaiian wins this round. 🩷
For beach frontage....yep, Royal Hawaiian all day.
Beautiful hotel! It brings back wonderful memories when I visited there with my family in 1973 and 1977, then the Kahala Hilton. Danny Kaleikini performed there and was terrific. Thanks for sharing!
All 787 9 dreamliner are like this? Where is premium economy?
Why they did not equip with premium economy is beyond me. I think its a missed opportunity.
@@suitesandlobbies . Thank you for replying. I thought you did not film it. So 787 8 has premium economy and 9 does not.
@@keepontravelling my understanding is both the 787-8 and 787-9 can come with premium economy, it is up to the airline on how they want the aircraft configured seat wise. Hawaiian chose not to have premium economy on their 787 aircraft. You will find it on some AA and UA 787s though.
@@suitesandlobbies ok so Airlines customize their planes interesting 🙂. I noticed that Virgin Atlantic has a premium economy option on their aircrafts.
*Sonic the hedgehog brought me here*
How?
Would any of these be accessible after arriving and picking up our luggage? I know we can use them but wasn’t sure if we would be able to enter after luggage pick up via security.
My understanding is you can only use the lounges when departing (original flight or connecting through). If you picked up your luggage I don't think you would be allowed back into the secured area of the airport without a ticket for a flight. Here is a short excerpt from their rules page "...Lounge members will need to provide at the time of entry, a valid boarding pass for a flight that day on Alaska, a fellow oneworld member airline, or one of our additional global airline partners.***" If you want to dig around for more information here is the Alaska rules link - www.alaskaair.com/content/airport-lounge/policies-and-rules?semid=Google%7C%7CSEMGenDSA%7C%7C&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0_WyBhDMARIsAL1Vz8vua2BZhvp3wD06lI3XCbmeM2mW-EqgeIZfgN20QBa_wN_PQD49SWcaAqOiEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
yikes what's with the graffiti
How much fuel does that plane take to get there
Great question, I have no idea actually. I am sure it depends on load, winds, and possibly a few other factors. I am guessing an average is out there somewhere.
I almost canceled my reservation at this hotel from all the bad reviews, but I’m glad I didn’t after watching your video. We have a reservation for the seafood buffet. It looks great!
That buffet was impressive for sure. Enjoy your trip!
I just discovered your channel and I love it! Any chance of another walking tour? This time to show your viewers Plumeria Farms 😊......? I would love to see that and I think lots of other people will too.
Oh Plumeria Farms on O'ahu? I have read about that place a couple of times and would love to visit. Will keep it in mind for sure!
@@suitesandlobbies Yes, Little Plumeria Farms on O'ahu, that's the one 😊! I hope you get the chance to visit.
Your not safe on any of this incompetent company’s planes
Lovely. No need for commentary...
Your video makes the hotel look very welcoming and beautiful. What's the best hotel to see fireworks in DC?
Im not a DC expert or native so not sure. Let us know if you find out. 👍
I’ll never fly on this POS MAX!!!! FK Alaska Airlines!!!!
Wow. Excellent video and very helpful. The food looks delicious!
Just finished a stay here and I was overwhelmed at the elegance! Beautiful property
Your cinematography is out of the world- unsurpassed- mahalo😂
Nothing sadder than a Waikiki tourist on a rainy day. :-(
🤣
The Royal Hawaiian Hotel is a famous landmark, and an untold amount of employees and guests have passed through its rooms, halls and walkways, not to mention its beach front throughout the years….I would not be surprised if there were benevolent spirits occupying the property….just saying….😊
I wouldnt be surprised either, deep history here.
HI There!! Where are your Video's??!! I have seen any Posted from you in a Long Time!!!
I have one coming soon! Thanks for poking me :)
I’m from Hawaii too
Hawaiian Airlines 787-9 Business Class seats are the same seat Like Qatar Airways Business Class 787-9
Yes, customized versions of the Adient Aerospace Ascent seat and I hear soon to be coming to American Airlines' Boeing 787-9s and 777-300ERs Flagship cabins.
Thanks
Stunning views! Great video!
Not too impressed with the 787-9 I flew extra comfort row 15G …… the 3-3-3 layout is just too tight. I will not fly this 787-9 again. The A330 2-4-2 layout is much more comfortable plane to fly on.
NOPE. Not Boeing. No way.
If you have a window seat on the STARBOARD side of the aircraft, at 5 minutes after in the air, look straight down - you will see the Kalaupapa lepper settlement and St Philomena Church where Saint Damien did his work on island of Molokai.
Interesting! Thanks for sharing, I will make a point of looking on one of my next flights.
@@suitesandlobbies book on window seat on RIGHT side of aircraft. Also, if you book flight 2 (HNL to LAX), if you have window seat on PORT side, about 5 minutes after crossing coast line on descent (usually approaches coastline somewhere between Wilshire Blvd and Santa Monica Fwy (I-10)), you will see DODGER STADIUM, and can easily make it out if Dodgers have a evening home game.
@@Ken_Weber_organist that would be awesome! capturing the lights in the stadium would be an epic shot.
@@suitesandlobbies indeed
for most HNL to LAX flights, Captain normally initiates descent over the Channel Islands (Annacapa or San Nicolas Island), about even with Santa Barbara, then crosses coastline (and passes LAX) and starts the U-turn somewhere near the East LA Interchange (where Santa Ana, Santa Monica, Golden State, Hollywood, and Pomona Freeways meet). They typicall complete that U-turn somwhere over the 605 in Norwalk, then final approach parallel with the 105 Fwy, pilots usually drop the gear somewhere between the Long Beach (I-710) and Harbor (I-110) freeways. By the time they cross over the 405, usually reach 'minimums' i.e. decision time to continue or go-around.
my turn, August 20, HNL to LAX first class seat

Nice! Have a great trip 👍
Too many first class seats. This means sharing the lavatory with many more people? I always get shitty food flying first class.
I must say: That Trail Is *NO* JOKE! After you completed/filmed an extremely precarious section, you said the trail was wide enough & definitely doable. Your coverage of that portion of the trail did *not* convey this. It looked like you were walking at death's door. R-E-S-P-E-C-T INDEED! 🙏🦉 🏞️🌅
I wish I could have captured the gravely-slippery section better on film also. It was an adventure for sure!!
