That building on the top of Hillyfields is my old secondary school. It was called Brockley County School (or prison on the hill as we affectionately called it as kids) back when I was there in 1981 to 1989. It then went from an all boys grammar school to a girls school called Prendergast School. Not sure what it is today. Seeing this video brings back happy memories. Thank you.

Hi I am from India. After seeing this video I had a strong desire to visit Cotswolds, before this absolutely had no knowledge of this place. This year I had made a plan to visit London (my second trip to the UK) and I made Cotswolds an important part of my tour plan. I am in London right now; I visited Cotswolds with my friend who resides here. We visited all the places you mentioned in your video. It was a great experience, thanks to you 😊

I lived at 11 Oxonian Street in the 50’s and 60’s. Next door was a family called Fairclough. I went to Grove Vale School and then Peckham School. I used to be a Saturday Girl in Woolworths which was extremely close by. I remember a butchers shop, a dairy called Jones and an estate agent called White Dent. There was also a hardware store which sold blue and pink paraffin for heaters.

Started school at Bessemer Grange and and lived on Denmark Hill estate . Later went to Mary Datchelor- alas no more. Could see St Paul's from bedroom window! Freddy Mills lived opposite. Remember the wisteria walk in Ruskin Park and brother playing football there . And went on swings pushed by my dad. Parents used to go to the Camberwell Palace when they were first married after the war. Remember run down Victorian housing and even older rundown mansions. Used to walk across Camberwell Green past the Peabody Buildings to catch bus home after school. It was so full of traffic fumes and dirty with litter everywhere.I remember being so pleased to get home and be able to breathe fresh air.
