No comment for this track. Why. Ed Stewart used to hammer this on Junior Choice in spring 1972. And i received it for my eighth birthday that year, from my ten year old brother.

This's got the Dave Clark Five STOMP thing happening like nobody's business!.. And if that isnt the best use of a school whistle in recorded rock & roll history, I'll drink my blood!..

I am interested in how you know this is a UK artist? It was produced by a man from Chicago, who trained in L.A., but did most (perhaps all?) of his work in the UK with famous British bands; but the single was only released in the US. (Bell was based in NYC, but at some point had an office in London.) The accents do sound British, but it's often hard to tell when someone's singing. Anyway, thanks for posting this!

Johnny Cymbal strikes again! The artist behind Cinnamon by Derek, worked in many genres trying to score a hit. A very eclectic songwriting career. Here he's the producer and Austin Roberts the songwriter.

Unless I am wrong, it seems an American song has copied this French song right here, have a listen: Katy Perry - Hot N Cold (Official Music Video). I was watching Name That Tune on January 2nd 2024 and they played the first notes for Craig Ferguson, and right away I thought it sounds like Maman by Dick Rivers and the host said it was Katy Perry. However after I thought about it it also sounded like Mort Schumer Allo Papa Tango Charlie. Sorry I'm not sure and that episode is not yet on KZread as it is airing right now in Los Angeles. I know American pop culture has been stealing a lot from French music and films and I have exposed some. As you will see, they have stolen quite a bit of French stuff, from (Patrika Darbo) the laughter in a '60s movie to Mannequin stealing Laurent Voulzy's style etc. Take a look and let me know what you think.
