    What you see smoking is primarily the parking lot, It had just been refinished.

    Mine has a shift problem that just started. It's 6 years old and just started. Reverse works fine. In drive it goes, but will buck and grind a little, like something is slipping a little. Any thoughts that this could be related to your shift issues?

    Yes. The gears are pretty solid for the unit design. Typically it’s just not engaging all the way like it should. You likely rounded the gear out where it was making contact. How many miles or hours on the unit? Doing the rebuild isn’t that difficult if you have a little know how and willingness to dive into it, it’s just a little time consuming. Please send me a email (see video description) and we can discuss it further if you would like.

    Thanks. Good to know. I'm about to try adjusting the cable, as mine doesn't engage Forward immediately -- slips, then clacks, then pops in. Now to figure out why it's not shifting out of 4WD...?

  • @JoseTrejo1

    It could very well be the switch. As a heads up, While I was servicing the Coleman 400utv I found various connections not fully connected where the retention clip was not even engaged over the locking tab on the receiving connector. I was blown away at the lack of execution taken on this machine. Go over your connections and make sure everything is properly seated and secure. You can likely check continuity of the 4wd switch if you have a meter.

    Thanks a lot for the response. I think it probably is the switch, either a bad contact or other bad connection. Tomorrow. Thanks again.

    What throttle cable are you using?

  • @JoseTrejo1
    @JoseTrejo16 ай бұрын

    Custom made throttle cable. I cut the conduit to length. Cut the cable to length on the carburetor side if it doesn’t have correct barrel end needed. Then using a block of wood I drilled the diameter and depth needed for a new barrel end that would fit into the carburetor slide. Put the cut cable end into the hole you drilled and solder it up. Once it’s cooled off, pull it out of the wood and file it down to fit. You may have to do this a couple times so practice on the scrap cable. I also sometimes frey the end of cable for better grip to the solder with less chance of pulling off. Hope this helps.

    I am making one at the moment and i have a few questions, can you please answer them 1) how many teeth are on the sprocket 2) how did you do the throttle (like how did you connect did you use a brake for it or did you use a spring

  • @JoseTrejo1
    @JoseTrejo17 жыл бұрын

    Woodie Films the tooth count on the sprocket is upto you, you can buy a sprocket hub and a just get the split sprockets(55-65tooth), if you find it a little hard to spin the tires then swap in a smaller sprocket. The throttle is specifically for the carburetor, it has a small bullet end on the carb side and a regular brake bullet on the brake lever end. You can buy an actual thumb or twist grip if you prefer that better. Twist grip makes a little harder to hold when turning left so i chose a regular brake lever over a short thumb lever. If you need a video of the parts specifically on how it was setup, let me know and i can do that this sunday. Thanks, happy drifting

    My motor idles too high when I start it with the choke on but if I turn down the idle it dies with the choke off did you have this problem at all?

  • @JoseTrejo1
    @JoseTrejo17 жыл бұрын

    Dillon Harrison you need to set your idle with the choke off only. Do not set your idle with the choke on. It is perfectly normal for it to idle high with choke on. Hope this helps
