I got my Tristar for very cheap back in 2019 just under £65 ($80), I'm actually surprised at how much the price has increased almost tripled in barely 5 years.
Its k1 or j1
I wish it was j1, but this one in the review is k1
@@WristSaga why do u want j1...I guess both are similar just 21 jewels text makes the difference I personally considering k1
Good video. Nice watch Watched on 1.25X speed
Thank you! Haha🤣 actually I tried to watch it on 1.25x too and it sounds better😏
good video!
❤❤❤
wow..I’ve never seen a Tristar in a video to look that good
You have to see it in person. It looks even better. Cheers!
Thank you! Great review! Do you have a model number for the one with black dial?
Got Tri-Star off eBay, needs to be serviced later. Learning to fix watches as a hobby.
I have no problem with a copy, as long as the watch they are copying is at least 50 years old. This is a beautiful little watch, and if my wrists were smaller, I would buy it in a New York minute ! So I bought a Militado ML05 instead. But Thank YOU for the review of this fine little watch !
Does anyone know the appropriate strap size? 20 or 22?
It is actually 18mm

i like the seconds hand. but this is made for a very small wrist. not for me.
The technique actually helped greatly. Got it done after 2 minutes watching the vid. I don't even have a spring bar tool, I just used a pocket swiss army knife and leveraged my way through. Thank you so much!
I suggest to change spring bars
most original military issued watches are quartz, in this case, mechanical ones are the outliers.
Click bait kinetic is nothing like spring drive Avoid
Looks good to be honest somewhat like hamilton khaki field watch i guess
It's a field watch, practically all field watches are copies of something. The fact that it isn't a Marathon, Benrus or Hamilton doesn't really change anything. They basically made a very convincing dead ringer that would allow people to enjoy the vintage size and aesthetic. I've been hoping for years now that Hamilton would release a 36mm or 34mm (like the original), Khaki Field Mechanical. But no, they kept the 38mm with very long lugs...and even made a 42mm later on. I have a Hamilton 46374B, and I would buy this quartz watch as it saves wear and tear on the original. It's a faithful reproduction, and I appreciate that. There are bad mechanical copies that exist that are fooling people into paying ridiculous money all the time. At least this is affordable and has decent build quality
If I were to use a sweep movement like VH31, it would be better.
I would make this update, but I don’t know exactly if that movement would fit inside the case.
It would even fit, but the dial won't fit.

What model # is the black dial version? Haven’t seen that one before. Where did you find it? Excellent videos. By the way!
just wait until you learn about citizen... with pure sapphire glass on top of it... you wouldnt touch this shit with 10 foot pole
Nice video, love the comparison between spring drive and kinetic.
Thank you! I think it is a comparison to make because both share the same perspective✌🏻
Kinetic is far different from Spring Drive , they are not the same . The second hand on a spring drive is a smooth constant sweep the "$150 alternative" isn't even a comparison .
That was exactly my point in the video 😏
@@WristSaga I figured , I am at work watching you tube videos with CC on . Sometimes makes it difficult . The Kinetic movement is still a great movement and even owned a Seiko Kinetic watch for a few years , had a colored energy gauge showing how much was stored was pretty cool .
A photovoltaic cell under the dial accomplishes the same thing. Citizen does it that way. It’s easy to fake a smooth movement of the seconds hand. The Bulova Precisionist watches do it despite being quartz. I think they need big lithium cells because they use more electric power, possibly due to the 262,144 Hz oscillator rather than the usual 32,768 Hz one usual with quartz watches.
Seiko did the same thing with their solar models, but a high beat quartz would consume a lot of energy, much more than a solar panel or a kinetic capacitor could handle.
Nice video and watch! I loved the explanation of the technology. Just a piece of advice: you should lower the music volume, as it makes it harder to understand you, and it can be distracting
Thanks! Will keep that in mind next video✌🏻
Thanks for this video, it's nice to see love for quartz on KZread.
what’s your wrist size?
6.5 inches
I got a fully lumed Seiko Kinetic 5M42-0D30 for about $200 and it's been my daily driver! Great size, looks nice, very practical. And because I work in the trades, I'm always moving to keep it charged. It's basically my "grail watch" apart from that I wish my model had a larger power reserve (more than a week) and better water resistance (3ATM). Those were solved in future Kinetic models, but I've had trouble finding one I like the look of that is in a smaller size like 38mm.
Good to hear other owners saying good things about the Kinetic line👏🏻 I saw that most of them come in a bigger package than 38mm, maybe due to the movement itself and rotor included.
the most affordable cartier tank alternative
Sure it is✌🏻
please casio, i'm begging you to stop putting WR50 on your beautiful dials.
I have the same complaint😏
I’m looking for a Tank watch for my big wrist of 8.5 inch diameter. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Think this casio brand would be too small for me.
You could search some Orient models instead.
Damn i cant find it anywhere in my country
Can vh31 fit in this case?
I don’t know for sure, but if you try to fit one, give us an update, you made me curious.
What was their reason for only releasing this in Europe?
Hey, how do you maintain your skeleton case so clean? Mine became so dirty-looking after 2 years.
I wash the watch daily after coming home. I clean it just like I wash my hands and sometimes I use a toothbrush.
Is the strap long for a tiny wrist?
Yep. It has a lot of holes to fit smaller wrists than mine.
Really like this watch but cmon Casio, how you gonna release this watch in the two worst colorways I’ve ever seen
You should see it in person. The photos and videos are misleading sometimes.
Sir I am from India. Can you send me the watch model no... plz..
is this watch realistically going to last a lifetime or it's kinda disposable watch?
I will try to wear it a lifetime and I will let you know then✌🏻
@@WristSaga see you in 50 years ahahaha
I love the second hand, and as a more artsy philosopher type, its totally formal enough for me.
£98.00 In the uk ( Amazon ) 😢
On their official website the price is considerably lower.
The only watch i own that doesn't have springbars is my Tactical frog Tudor FX homage (fixed lugs). Even my $1700 titanium g-shock has springbars in the clasp. I'm not worried about it, springbars rarely fail.
The gold version does not scratch as easily as the silver one, because it’s pvd coated and the silver is not. Go for the gold!
Thanks for the tip✌🏻😏
8:00 where can I find those straps, they look really durable
the berry
Battery* oops missed that✌🏻😏
What's strap size?
18mm
If the elephant in the room is being a scratch magnet, then the better choice seems definitely to be the more recent “recrystallised” version.
Quite nice version. Thanks!✌🏻
could please tell where can i get the leather straps?
