Hi guys! I'm Tameka, with an "e" 🙃. the "Medical Billing Maven" here on KZread. A woman of a mature age, wanting to share information and educate others on my profession of Medical Billing. I've been a Certified Professional Biller (CPB) over fifteen years now and I love what I do! This channel is about ALL THINGS MEDICAL BILLING in a Physician's office and the Revenue Cycle.
I hope to involve, inform, and inspire other women like myself who are interested in Medical Biling and connect with those who are already in profession, because in this world we are not meant to be alone and should always care and help others.
Thank you for joining me. Please subscribe and comment so we can connect.
I hope you enjoy my videos.😊

That was very helpful!!! Thanks
Lol I work in Tebra
Lol...do you love it? I've been getting more familiar with it but it's still not my favorite.
Same here. This system is not my favorite but the system has some great features.
Hello, Tameka, very informative video. What do you if the remit or EOB shows a co-pay and co-ins and maybe a deductible
That happens as well. I was trying to keep it simple. But if the remit shows all three and the patients policy truly includes all three, then the patient would receive a bill for those amounts if they did not pay it on the date of service.

Hi Maven! Do you have a LinkedIn Profile? I’m so inspired by you. 🥹🩵
Thank you. I appreciate that ❤️ I do, but I'm not very active over there. KZread is my main platform.
Ub04 explain mam
I bill for private practice. UB04 forms are for facilities/hospitals.
Is your company still hiring for medical biller?
Unfortunately, I'm not currently hiring.
I'm new to this career and this is so helpful! thank you
You're welcome 😊
Mam, can you explain Ub04 form like this, your way of explanation is awesome, I please
Thank you. I appreciate you saying that. Unfortunately, I don't use UB04 forms. I only bill for private practices.
I want to work with you
Sorry. I'm not currently hiring.
Hi! I’m fairly new to billing. Received a denial that the claim is not reimbursable for non-physicians. My provider is a licensed obgyn which can perform such service. I have reviewed the claim form and I am confused as to why we are having that denial. My question is, when billing for a professional claim, on box 33 for cms 1500, do I have to leave the npi blank or do I have to put the group’s npi? Hopefully this gets answered
For most payers you would need to put the practice NPI. You may also want to call the payer and see if that is the true denial reason and if so you may have to research further how the provider is credentialed with the payer.
@@MedicalBillingMaven thank you. When you say practice npi you are referring to the individual provider and not the group’s npi?
Is it possible to get that kind of job even close to senior years? Too discrimination is too high so sad
I believe it is. I think it's about your skill set and work ethic, not your age.
@@MedicalBillingMaven thank u so much. Love ur reply. It inspired me a lot and motivate me for sure. More power to your content. God bless🙏
Thank you - how would you break down charging for these separate services. My understanding I can charge a percentage per claim would I still charge a percentage for the different steps
Pricing isn't a one size fits all, but charging a percentage of revenue collected is an option. You can always schedule a remote 1:1 with me so we can discuss it further. Here's the link www.itsallmedicalbilling.com/book-online
Thankyou for your response, will you share video on OBGYN practice billing terms
You're welcome.
I did not get where the $200 came from in adding it to co-insurance since we already minus it in the $1625 bill amount or did I miss something?
We had to add the $200 back because that is the amount the patient had left to meet of their deductible. The $200 was only subtracted at the beginning so we could calculate how much the patient's coinsurance would be.
A claim billed with 59400 on 02/19/2024 by previous billing company, and now we are billing that provider for DOS 02/18/2024 with CPT 99234 but insurance company denied for included with 59400 pt. have come in on 02/18/2024 to hosp as out pt. for false labour, no MR dr only writes on the charge sheet can we rebill the claim and what should we do to get paid for DOS 02/18/2024
Typically visits the day of or the day before are included in global. You may be able to use a modifier on the admit/discharge code if documentation allows.

Where do you find client's that are looking for 1099 contract / solo billing business owners, rather than those looking for a regular hourly hire?
Small private practice providers may be interested in hiring 1099 contractors. Also those providers who have in house billers may be interested as well, but you may have to work on convincing them to hire you as a contractor.
@MedicalBillingMaven Thanks! Also, I have established my own billing business (solo). Do I market myself as a business or 1099 in your opinion. I am 9-5 and I have two contract positions, but they are not under nor aware of my LLC (business)I created. I established it after I began with them. So, still hourly with them. So again, how should I market myself?
Do you have a email address so that I can email you. Because I have some questions I want to start a business and I don’t know where to begin can you please help me
Yes I can help answer your specific questions about starting a billing business. You can schedule a 1:1 with me here www.itsallmedicalbilling.com/book-online

I live in illinois, where do i take medical billing classes?
Here are two online classes I recommend 📘CCO PBB (Self Paced) - cco.pe/tdcpb 📘IPS MMB (Instructor Led) - ips-s-school-8c86.thinkific.com/courses/Mastering-Medical-Billing?ref=055d64
Hi Just wondering if you do shadowing or teach ?
I don't do shadowing and currently I don't have a class. However since I am a certified professional biller instructor I would like to eventually start to teach.
WHAT IS SUPPOSED TO GO INTO 11B? WHAT ABOUT A REPLACEMENT CLAIM CMS-1500?
In box 11B you'll only enter a claim number if the payer requires it. I did an update video that explains it more at this link kzread.info/dash/bejne/oXajy6dpdbSrg9I.htmlsi=M_fScbZM-QcnGFxN Also, when you say a replacement claim, do you mean a corrected claim? I cover that in the updated video as well.
