Write with passion. Market with confidence. Live without limits.

Hey, I'm Charlie and I started this KZread channel as an online english teacher back in 2018...

A LOT has changed since then, but one thing remains the same... I love English and I love teaching!

So, while I no longer teach in the traditional sense, I still love sharing the nuggets of wisdom I pick up along the way.

Being a self-confessed grammar nerd, English enthusiast and sucker for storytelling has led me into the wonderful world of marketing, specifically copywriting, and I've learned that a lot of the tricks of the trade I work in can be applied to many other professions too.

As my career has evolved, I've learned so much about marketing your own business that I wish I knew when I had my own teaching business.

And so, I'm on a mission to spread the word to empower a community of marketers. Leapfrog over my mistakes and use English to catapult your career in a way I could have ever imagined.

I’ve never read the book, but aren’t they always better than the show/movie?😂 I was hooked by the girl on the train, it’s similarly suspenseful with a twist, if you haven’t read it already?

You can find the details of a writing method in multiple places online. What you can't find is the honest and genuine nature of the person using it. The first half of this video is worth as much (if not more) than the rest of it. Especially after commenting on my own battle with perfectionism (maybe that's a thing we all share as authors), this video really hit home, so thank you.

  • @charlieraswrites

As someone who has written five novels but still struggles with the overwhelming feeling of a blank page of that next new story (and especially now when that blank page is also the beginning of a new series), this insight into the Snowflake Method (which I've looked at before) feels more motivating with the way you present it. As someone who battles with perfectionism, I'm putting my one-sentence summary out there as a way to get my skin in the game and nudge myself forward... A lighthouse keeper's granddaughter discovers the truth about her love lost at sea.

I was searching KZread for a correction between running and inspiration (I'm a singer songwriter) and what you wrote was my reinforcement I needed. I need to go back to running, to stimulate my blood. I remember how helpful it was in creating new ideas. Its mental impact was way more effective than lifting. Thank you for that.

So your audio is really roomy/reverberant and hard to hear, when you put your logo on after I turned up my volume to hear you it blasted my ears. Get a LAV and stop recording from a mic across the room. Learn how to record audio properly please. I'm sorry to be so harsh, but not everyone listens on earbuds or laptop speakers (which is still a problem). You blasted me in a professional recording studio when your logo came on. Balance. KZread it.

BEWARE any interested individuals when applying with Cambly... After submitting my online application through the Cambly website, the following was my experience during the past 7 days. On august 24th I received this email message : "Hi ____, Thank you for your application! We're delighted to inform you that your application has made it through the first stage of the process to become a tutor, congratulations! Your account has been moved to our shortlist of high-quality tutors for priority onboarding. Please be aware, it may take anywhere from 1 day to a few weeks for your account to be activated for tutoring on Cambly. We always make sure there is sufficient student demand so, once you're activated, you can be sure to have plenty of calls and students to start your tutoring career! We will finish processing your application as soon as possible and email you again once your application is approved to begin tutoring :) Thank you so much for your patience and for your interest in working with us! All the best, _______" * I replied to that email with a pleasant message about my excitement & eagerness to start tutoring on Cambly. During the following days I dedicated 7+ hours to studying the Cambly tutor support online guides along with watching related Cambly videos through KZread, so that those efforts & learnings would be able to be put to use as a Cambly tutor in the upcoming days... However after 6 days and no further emails were received from the "Cambly Team", earlier today I sent this email : "Dear Cambly Team, Out of consideration for my schedule & current plans with a need to obtain an additional source of income : within the next 24 hours can an update be given about when my tutor account can be activated to begin tutoring on Cambly? I already have dedicated a 'few' hours of studying the Cambly tutor support guides along with watching related videos through KZread, so I hope those efforts & learnings will be able to be put to use as a Cambly tutor in the upcoming days 😊... Sincerely 🙏 ________," * A few minutes later I received this email from "Cambly Help Support" : "Hi there, Thank you for creating a Cambly Tutor Profile! We have received a lot of interest in our tutoring roles and unfortunately, after reviewing your profile, we've decided not to move forward with your application. We will keep your application on file in case it's a better fit in the future. Due to the large volume of emails we receive, we will not be able to provide personalized feedback. Thank you so much for taking the time to consider Cambly and we wish you all the best! Best Regards, The Cambly Team" * 1 hour later I replied with this email : "Dear Cambly Team, Why 1 hour ago that email was sent to me? Because 6 days ago I received that confirmation email message. Sincerely 🙏 ________," A few minutes later I received the *same* email from "Cambly Help Support" which was sent to me earlier today 🤦🏻‍♂🤦🏻‍♂...

I used to be the hiring manager for one of the larger content writing companies. I can tell you that, judging by your writing style in those emails, I wouldn't have hired you, either. I'm not saying this to be snarky or cruel, but the fact is that if the goal is to hire teachers with excellent English grammar skills to teach the language to non-native speakers, then those teachers need to demonstrate excellent English language skills. Yours aren't bad, but they're not currently strong enough to give a hiring manager confidence in your ability to teach the language properly.
