You can never have too many guitars in life. I am a collector like you who likes to share his collection and experiences with friends.

I learned that there are many different types of collectors. I would characterize myself as a generalist. I do not specialize in any specific manufacture or model of guitar. I cannot recite all the permutations of a specific guitar through the years it has been produced. I am the guy that knows a little bit about a lot of guitars. I want them all. I have limited funds, so the guitars I buy tend to be the guitars that are usually below $1500 in price. I do periodically buy guitars that are in the higher end when it comes to costs. I like all Gibson Les Paul’s but would not turn my nose up at a Tribute model or a Special. Meaning if the guitar plays well and makes me smile - all is good in the world. I love to work on guitars. I like to share the projects I am working on with other like-minded people.

Just got a good deal on a Gen 1 Player Telecaster Body(In Tidepool) that I plan to build a project guitar with. It looks to be routed the same as the Player II. I have very specific preferences on a lot of aspects of a guitar, so I’m thinking the Player series will be a great mod platform.
I use player parts in a lot of my builds.
@@guitarcollectorguy, so far I’ve modified an Epi Les Paul Classic Worn(which needs repairs due to a faulty replacement harness) and a Squier Sonic Strat HSS(I moved it to a SSS with a rail stacked humbucker and two noiseless singles). This will be my first build effectively from scratch. I was thinking about a Humbucker-P90-Humbucker(Nashville on Steroids), but after this video, there may be other variations worth a look. Didn’t expect the option for a P90 at the neck.

Enjoy the content as the really expensive guitars are forever out of reach for me
Thank you
I just happened to find both of these in a store in NC yesterday. It was a hard decision but I got the VM cyclone for right at $300, it sure is a fun guitar, sounds great also.
jamie, your bench ins missing an "Allparts Hot Holder PRO Soldering Tool" pretty amazing little helper
That is pretty cool! Thanks
I just ordered one.
Have you done any builds with bathtub routed strats? They're the only kind I make, but curious if you have any insight on EMI issues with an open pocket like that.
I have done a few. I have usually installed humbuckers. With single coil installed have you experienced more hum/noise?
@@guitarcollectorguy I haven't built any out, I just manufacture the bodies, but I'm wondering why there aren't more bathtub routes out there for potential EMI issues.
It probably is the reason. It seems they would be a really popular routing because of the upgrade possibilities. Makes sense that there would be more noise.
I like your Tilswall soldering station. Maybe because I own one myself. 😂
Right on! Glad to see an Affinity get the business. I think I asked once... have you used the SD Liberator?
I have looked at it and thought about trying one. I will in one of my projects.
Another nice build😊
Thanks!
Amazing video sir, and very inspiring. You really show the potential of this model of guitar and that super-switch is so cool. Very nice work!
Thank you very much!
@@guitarcollectorguy I have to get one!
I love natural and large headstock! $149 for my Epiphone special II was great also! Don't get me wrong, genuine Gibson Specisls are much better, but properly set up, and a few parts replaced, the low end models are miles ahead of the old day entry level.
They truly are!
I have this exact same guitar in black. I love the double binding too. Mine's a little on the heavy side. When I bought mine over a year ago, they came with poplar bodies.
Not only did he get a properly built guitar. It is also KZread famous 😊
Thank you
That's a looker right there!
Thanks
I'm sure the twisted tele pickups aren't crying.
I would much rather go after a Classic Vibe. Had much better results from those guitars
Nice, informative video. Thank you.
Thank you!
🤘🏼😎
Will you do that for me
Of course. [email protected]
Send me an email of what you are thinking.
I like that axe 😊built just as if it was a custom maybe better 😉
I totally have a question for you too! I am building a guitar and I want to have 3 pick ups. I got a hum bucker, single coil, and a jazz master pick up. I want to have just one switch to turn on or off the pick up and maybe just a volume knob. It’s kinda based off of the 1960’s Sandtron guitar. I have never built a guitar though and never really messed with guitar electronics just soldered some stuff before. Would you know how to go about that and what kind of on off switches id need. I just thought there’s no harm in asking sense you seem very smart on this stuff.
You could do it with an on and off switch just like the Jaguar. It has three switches and would allow to control each pickup individually. The combinations would be cool.
Awesome of you gcg! The guitar sounds amazing, hope you enjoy it wherever you are out there!
Thank you
Rad build. I envy the build and is quite close to one I would do. I hope your channel and business continue to grow! 🤘🏼😎
Thank you and me too.
Lucky dude, nice job!
Thank you
Hi mate, just to confirm sorry, so the neck pocket fits a P90? from the video I couldn't tell, always imagined for a Humbucker as in the 1st Player series. Cheers
Yes, the neck pickup will take the following pickups - Telecaster Single Coil, Standard Single Coil, Humbucker, and P90.
You will need another pickguard for whatever pickup size.
@@guitarcollectorguy many thanks for answering! Cheers
@@kanjinha you are very welcome
❤sweet mighty cool of you
Thanks!
@@guitarcollectorguy yo dude awesome video because of you I no longer fear opening loaded pickguards thanks buddy

@@guitarcollectorguy keep up the good work my brother well done
Love the double binding.
Very similar to a Harley Benton TE-62db BLK
I like your channel
Thank you
I have the 50s one in black and I love it. I do have to admit that I have no use for the S1 switch.
Mexican junk?
This is why the 1960s was great for music.
I plan on making a Coodercaster out of a classic vibe. I Love the style, they look so swampy and rough
I want one like that !!!
How's the vibrato like? Does it detune the guitar? Thanks!
It is a standard large block two point fender bridge that is on so many other Stratocasters. Nothing new or innovative.
i put brass saddles on a guitar, and i felt like it changed the feel of the string when strumming, and i didn't care for that. it didn't add any brightness to my ears, so i swapped in steel instead. but anyways, budget guitars are cool
Cool unit.
A crappy set up guitar is a very disappointing experience for all players. I had to just teach myself how to basically build a guitar for there is nobody in my area that could set up my guitars as a buy them .if manufacturers would spend a little more time on setup and qc would do therd job excellent instruments could be enjoyable right out of the box,
I just returned a RSE20. It had 8 defects. My other Yamaha is literally perfect. Go figure.
Sorry about that. I don't think that's the norm though.
Is maple neck also available?
Yes both maple and rosewood. Also 11 body colors.
@@guitarcollectorguy Good selection!
Least expensive guitar in my collection. It gets a misappropriate amount of play time.
Great review Jaime. Thank you. For me, I'm still rocking my "Jaimecaster". I think I'll be passing on this one for the time being.
Thank you very much!
Bridge screws are domed and under the E/E saddles so you can't adjust properly for intonation without wrecking the height and angle of the saddles. Worst. Design. Ever.
What model of Mustang?
I built it.
@@guitarcollectorguy very cool. I'm a builder myself.
Question for the neck pickup I want to have a strat pickup, would that fit in the pick guard? Or the route if it was a single pup route? Also could you use a middle pup or a bridge or do you have to use a neck pup? Let me know thx brother😊
A Strat pick up will definitely not fit in a standard Tele pick guard. You will have to enlarge the opening in the pick guard and possibly the body as well.
It will not fit the pickguard. The routing in the body will handle a strat single coil all the way up to a P90. You could probably find a pickguard with the strat size single coil size hole n
Is there any drop-in classic 3-saddle bridge for these?
If not, I'm sure there will be soon.
This bridge had been around for a long time. I am not aware of a drop in vintage 3 saddle bridge.
If AllParts doesn't have one, they don't make it. I have however found some success on Etsy. Bespoke bridges galore.
When you change brands of strings or string gauges you normally need to reintonate the guitar. Truss rod adjustment too.
