Hey! I've been owning rats for 2 years and here is what I noticed <3 Rats need wood bedding instead of paper, paper isn't absorbent like wood. meaning it needs more cleanings and it also has horrid ammonia control. it also looks like you need more bedding, Overtime when you get more stuff to fill the cage I recommend removing the shelves! they aren't needed and rats end up peeing all over them. it'll give you more room to add more goodies Happy rat parenting! welcome to the rat world
