    I just ventured into astrophotography after two years of visual. I have the Adair mini,120 mini guide scope and the asi585mc cooled camera. I’m having trouble viewing through the main camera. All I see is a black screen and plate solving keeps failing. Can’t even polar align because it fails. If I can’t polar align I can’t use any of the features until it polar aligns.

    How does the filter fit the camera?does it screw inside the adapter ring? Have a c9.25 and just tried Hyperstar for 1st time. Amazing. And what an absolutely marvelous image. Do you think I could achieve something similar with my C9.25, hyper star and ASI294? I have just been using it for EAA so far without the hyper star. And my exposures have been about one or two seconds for a total of five or six minutes. What do you do with all the 2hrs of images? All new to me! Great channel - subscribed.

  • @ScottExplores29
    @ScottExplores296 ай бұрын

    Yes, there should be an adapter that fits the inch and a quarter filter near the camera. I'm unsure if a 2-in filter will fit. I would go for 30 seconds to 60 second exposures. The results are amazing

    @@ScottExplores29 inside the camera “front bit” there is a black bezel thingy with 4 Philips head screws - looks to be retaining a piece of clear glass in front of the CCD. Under that it looks like a 1.25” female thread - do I remove the glass and screw in the filter? Oooh-er. Nervous!

    Depends on what you're imaging. Any darker nebula go for 1 minute to 2 minute exposures. In a nebula like Orion go for like 30 seconds. You can even mix it all up

    Every planet in the solar system has some sort of ring system and, yes, even Earth. Most but not all scientists acknowledge ring systems on how prominent they are. Earth's ring system is extremely thin. Therefore, it is not considered as a ring system to certain scientists.

    Are ringed planets common in other solar systems?

  • @xandresrodriguez4948
    @xandresrodriguez49488 ай бұрын

    Yes. I would presume so. Rings are made from debris that encircle it due to gravity. It's mostly gas giants but their can be some terrestrial planets that have rings as well in other solar systens. Saturn's ring system is made of ice and it works because it's further back so the ice doesn't melt.
