  I really tried to hang in there for ro2. But it’s rough. Cockpit view removed, bumper cam sits too high you can never see where you’re flying aerial. Odd cockeyed aerial parts on tracks where your car just is totally unpredictable, way worse music, and OH MAN the cam rewind mechanism and all the blind hairpin corners with no signage or railings…. I just want to reset on track not go flying into orbit for thirty seconds, or fiddle with some tony hawk rewind mechanism WHILE THE CLOCK KEEPS GOING LOL. Where’s my track times? I bought it for a friend and we can’t even compare track times. Played 20 hours and the track grind just got repetitive and I’m going back to ro1

  Oh I hear you completely! Redout 2 has grown on me a bit and is a nice change of pace, but overall, Redout 1 is the infinitely-superior game in all aspects.

  I played this game on redout till A league and it got to a point i had no new upgrades...every ship was at as 580 - 583 and the ship rank was 500- to fuckin 600 early in the league?! I dont have any more upgrades for my ships and i play the levels in order so im stuck on this one level because every ship i have either doesnt cool down fast enough and i cant boost leaving me to get passed up instantly and other ships speed stats are utter shit. Idk what to do. It feels unfair and not fun anymore and i dont wanna lower the difficulty over this just to win every time. Redout was perfect to a certain point and now its like i have it on nightmare. Please help i want to complete this game i love it to much 😭😭😭😭😭

  A couple things- first, I recall others in the community saying that earlier in the career, the top speed stat is uniquely beneficial due to the way the stat scales up in on the graph. You might have too many stat points in things like stability or steering right now that aren’t as important at that power level. Secondly, and I can’t recommend this enough, go to the game’s Discord server - discord.gg/Redout- and ask around. There are a ton of really good players who could point you exactly in the right direction after looking at screenshots of your ship graphs.

  Good question- I saw that another XG2 player was trying to break my previous Spectre record with Venom and mentioned on stream something about the bike having faster supersonic speeds. Upon trying it, it seems Venom gains significant time over the Spectre in this track’s really long straightaway, making it the best choice.

  I've actually never heard of this game! It looks really interesting, not too many games with futuristic looking realistic vehicles out there. Have you tried Xenon racer? It sort of gives off the same vibes.

  It’s a good game, has a nice physics engine and LOTS of content! The biggest drawback for me is actually the bland soundtrack- it’s extremely generic and almost all of the songs sound exactly the same. I have played a bit of Xenon racer- it seems good but I haven’t delved into the campaign yet to give you a full opinion.

  A few of the ones with the magnetic stabilizer power up are without wall bouncing but other than that, wall bouncing is everywhere in the WR’s.

  I appreciate the depth of the new mechanics in 2 (just found out about the sequel) and that you went into all the details of even cancelling a turbo boost. I'll need to remember that instead of just assuming I'm hitting a wall out of it. side note: I wish they separated health and heat capacity as stats

  Great question- as far as I’m aware, the reset timer on the health gauge is the same regardless of ship build or strategy. Just keep in mind that any ship collisions or overheats will reset that health regeneration.

  It’s a matter of preference but I don’t like the dual-analogue “default” controls at all. I remapped my controller to mimic the “classic” scheme from Redout 1 (so no right stick involvement and strafing on the triggers). The issue with this setup is that unless your pad has symmetrical back buttons (like the Xbox Elite), you’ll need to set left roll on L3 and right roll on RB. It’s not ideal but I’ve gotten used to it.

  @@S2riker Apparently so, i use a hardmodded console myself, Setup wasnt too hard, just a matter of getting the right file to your console and opening it from there

  awesome video, shame i didnt come across it before getting the plat. is it actually the hardest event? i recall jupiters time trial took me longer to complete. maybe thats coz i was inexperienced at that point?

  Thanks for watching! I haven’t done all the events so I wouldn’t know but the community consensus seems to be that this is the hardest platinum. Surface Sprint is a hard track but you don’t need to learn the cuts to platinum Jupiter’s TT, unlike Debris Trophy which probably requires at least a couple cuts.

  Nice work! I personally feel that Antigraviator gives off a slightly unpolished feel and I'm not too keen on the trap system either. With some more customization and a less grindy campaign I think the game would have been elevated greatly. Regardless, great to see your piloting skills as always!

  The unpolished vibe probably comes from the boosting and how the craft instantly pops into a lower position before slowly rising. The sound effect isn't helping either because it sounds like the vehicle is just accelerating from idle rather than going faster than before

  they also could've raised the camera slightly so you can see the track better, (if they were too attached with how the ship looked from this angle they actually could've gotten away with pitching the ship down to adjust, the player wouldn't notice much) I really like how stiff the handling seems in this video and it looks like a real racing line is being taken

  Haha it doesn’t feel like Redout though- the handling isn’t floaty and it plays like a stiffer F-Zero. I certainly don’t like it as much as Redout but still had some good fun with it!
