i just started doing this but flex shifts, it's wonderful as an introvert, u might as well be on a deserted island, 3.5 hr shift, doing it for 10+ hrs as full time though, oooof. Once u get used to it ur body just does it's thing and goes into robot mode, then you'll make rate easy. Coming where i was from in an SDD warehouse in dispatch surrounded by 100 people making noise and talking this is heaven.

While this may be cool to watch and gather insight about some of the amazon jobs( I am currently an amazon employee ) most likely… this person doesn’t have this job anymore. Turn over is high on top of the fact that this is a fireable offense which I just learned recently… any picture/ video in most of the warehouse is, SO just be careful all of you current and future amazon employees! But I am glad this video is still around and I hope this person is prospering and living life to the fullest! I’ve never done pick and I heard it can be pretty tough

Water spider (for Stow), Stow and pick should only be on a Flex schedule not 10-12+ hours a day 3-4 days a week. Although the benefits are great, those jobs arent healthy for the mind or body. on the flex schedule its good because you can just choose your hours at a base minimum 20 hours a month up to 60 hours a week max. I wouldn't consider those jobs long time careers no more than three months. Altho ive seen people stick to the same job picking or stowing for over a year+.

Your correct about who couldn’t do that job for $18 an hour. I worked at Amazon but it was the last stop before being shipped out. I left because I never thought I’d get assaulted while I was working but here we are! Management did absolutely nothing about it so I said I don’t need or want this shit, so I left and never went back.

Im trying to look at your takt time. 😂 Can’t see nothin. I been working there for now three weeks, Ima normal rate 230. I go from 190 to 250, on a universal station. My takt time goes from 9-15. It won’t stay at 9 very long, I average 11 or 12. Sometimes it goes to 13 even, then when it’s at 15, I start forcin myself to go faster to get it lower.

@@gr8nessalways586 No forreal I appreciate Stowers who are understanding of pickers. I understand that the computer tells you how much to put inside and its not the stowers fault, but sometimes it is so hard when its a huge box that berely fits and you need to pull it out. At that point, I just pull an andon

At the beginning is tough you need to prepare your mind and body to work the full 10 hours !!! I started working last week ! Omg my body hurt like crazy my feet everything. But at the same time I love it I want to become fit I also suffer from anxiety, and I noticed after working here my anxiety decreases a lot , I sleep better and I’m able to manage my symptoms !!!!! So I guess is doing good for me mentally 💓💓💓

Guys and gals. Please remember to STOP your time as much as you can by pressing the 'View container' button or the 'Problem' button as well. This will save you a ton of time! Especially when fiddling with hard to get packages from the bin. This little trick got me to 300/here on my 6th day there. I'm 6 days in now, starting my 7th tonight. Also when you approach the bin. Grab the bands down with one hand and pick with the other hand. Rotating the package to the barcode for the scanner. Assuming it is a small package. Then do the two handed technique from there (newbies will learn this later). Take full advantage of multiple quantity items. (Lipstick, pill bottles, cards, jewelry etc). This will boost your pick rate immensely!! I usually can have about 5 min to spare at the end of the hour on a good day so far. I had to go slower today and switch machines. Due to all the sensor issues on the tote conveyor. Don't be afraid to ask them to switch you machines so you can get a better rate if you feel. Best of luck! I wish you well. Sincerely, -casual employee Who's probably not going to make a career outta this.

I originally applied to Amazon because of videos like this and seeing people pick while live on TikTok. wellllll I got a job and was assigned to pick… but at my warehouse we spend the entire 9 1/2 hours walking around pushing carts grabbing items off of the non-moving shelves. it’s exhausting and I can’t wait to be able to switch to packing
