Not the best interview, the salesman isn’t a salesman. You had to drag information out of him.

Just for the record - the “J230-D” is also the Australian 2-seater, which, under Recreational Aviation Australia registration must stay at just 2 seats and is also limited to 600 kgs (1,320 lbs) MTOW. The identical four-seater is the “J430” (not sure whether the latest version is also a “D” model), but it must be CASA registered (i.e. VH-*** registration), but is then allowed up to about 720 kgs (about 1,580 lbs). Same fuselage, same engine, same wings, but an extra two seats.

SeaRey owner here.... nice plane! Couple things...no windows to fly while open, canopy opens against water pressure while upside down, ( should you flip ) gear switch out of sight, nose wheel not good for rough fields.... on the plus side, no flying wires, folding wings, anti flip design, water rudder. After looking at SeaMax and others I bought the American made SeaMax LSA.

Mostly a nice video. Glad you interrupted him to teach us about wind. So you go slower into a headwind. Got it. Wait a minute, are you sure its not faster into the headwind? Or is it into or behind a tailwind. Its so easy to get this mixed up. How do you remember which is which? I think you need a whole video for this. He tried to point out that the indicated 119 was lower than true air speed, but you declared it to be 'the speed you're moving through the air'.

I am right-handed and fly from both seats. It doesn't take long to get used to either seat. And if you feel more comfortable having your left hand on the stick you can fly from the right seat, no problem. Just make sure you ask for an extra flap switch on the right side of the airplane.
@kmalerich Жыл бұрын
You can fly from either seat with either hand. I'm an Airbus (retired) check airman). You can easily fly with either hand. I also have a Compair 6 and can fly with either hand on the stick from L or R seat. Easy as pie. Takes about 5 minutes to master it.

Just don't plan on sitting in any static displays of any aircraft you're interested in. All said NO! and they weren't even new aircraft. Whether they are privately owned or direct from the factory, don't bring an aircraft to an aircraft SHOWCASE and NOT let potential buyers try one on for size. That's OK, they got my $20 anyway.
