Where did you order the seat covers at? Great video I know I can do it myself !!!
My brother bought them from Hubbards Impala parts
Very nice example you have there. My favorite year Impala is 1965. 1969 is number two.. Had a 69 Custom Coupe. 350 300hp with powerglide trans. I think 69 was last year for Powerglide. My 65 was was a 2 door coupe . 283 with Powerglide as well. Good memories
Thank you very much for sharing your memories. That’s awesome that you had one very similar to mine. Thanks for watching.
Yeah, i had a 65 Impala SS, nice looking, BUT it had a 283 and 2 speed crapomatic! POS.
That’s what mine has, definitely just a cruiser
This is just opinion and exaggerated "fact." The 1959 SS Impala is second to no other gen. for what should be OBVIOUS reasons.
I appreciate your comment, but there was no such car as a 59 impala SS. SS started with the 61 Impala.
😊the 65 impala is so beautiful, they ruined it in 66 , just my opinion?
I definitely like 65 better
Oh yeah
@@ImpalaCadillacRestoModDIY me too
My dad owned a 1965 Impala SS 396 Turbo 400 , complete with 8 track and cb. Dark blue with light blur interior. I was around 10 years old and my favorite thing was the vacuum gauge , that thing was amazing to me.
Very cool, it’s always good to hear people’s memories of these fine cars
My friend Johnny Hammonds 65 red/red hardtop; 4 speed Muncie “whine “ with hp 327 /300 and posi rear was no joke and would rip with the best of them per her chubby size
Cool story, thanks for sharing your memories.
it amazes me how frequently they changed body styles in that era. for all makes.
Every year they changed so many things
The Evening Orchid paint knocks me out. Love the long sloping rear roof line.
Definitely nice, thanks for watching
Is it possible to remove in one piece?
Also yes that hood is a two man job , i removed mine by myself at night and jesus i wish i had someone else to help hold it . Rip my back and foot lol 😂
I don’t know if it can come off in one piece. You’re right about the hood.
That’s right
Great video, about to start on mine in about a week, if you can remember, about how many hours total on it to completion?
I think it took a weekend
wouldnt the 67 chevy impala be almost the same process? im considering buying this
It would probably be almost the same
I had a black '65 SS with the factory 396 & Turbohydramatic 350. Your car appears nice, but the '66 is a better looking design.
We all have our favorites
@@ImpalaCadillacRestoModDIY I have owned both. The front and rear of the '65 is a little too squarish for the more modern side profile of that body style. The '66 is more refined, and the whole package is better is better integrated, making the lines flow more naturally. My '66 was the same color as your car. Post your email and I'll send you a photo.
I Love the 65' Impala but for me it's the 1967' Impala, it's just a far more stylish car 👍😎
That is definitely nice too. I’ll take one of each. Thanks for watching
@@ImpalaCadillacRestoModDIY Yeah me to ! 😆
Doing my first aftermarket AC kit on a customers 66 Impala SS with 427
Cool, I hope this helps.
i agree -- the '65 Impala is the best looking American car of the 60's ... friends of mine had black Super Sports ... and your's looks great.
That’s awesome, best American car of the 1960s
My parents had a 65 impala four-door convertible in that sky blue or a little darker than sky blue and my grandmother had of this game 65 quite nice either one it’s one of the most beautiful cars ever made
Very cool, I have never seen a 4 door convertible before. That must be really rare. Thanks for watching
Beautiful!!!
Thanks very much
1965 was the best year for Chevrolet and Pontiac.
They both looked really great, that’s for sure
What a great car you have. I had a 1966 impala 30 years ago. It looked just like yours with the fast back roof. It had a 283 with the power glide transmission, but it was not a super sport. I like the them both. It is hard to pick the better one. I had an advertisement from life magazine of a 1965 super sport framed and hanging in my room as a kid. I always wanted the super sport!
I really appreciate your watching and sharing your comments. They are really awesome cars
Had one in 1970 !
Cool
This was my first auto 65 super sport
Really cool 1st car
Nice
Thanks very much
I’m in the process of doing the same on my 1964 Cadillac, that why I asked. I thinking about attempting to align myself. I purchased the Fastrack alignment tool off Amazon.
Cool, I’m sure you can probably do it
58-70 imps are the best. I’m lucky to own a 68 impala ss and a 1970 impala convertible. 🍻
Very cool
After installing all new parts, did you do the alignment your self? Or take it somewhere?
No, my car has been taken apart ever since, but I will be taking it somewhere
What if you have bucket seats & want bench seats? Is it direct bolt on? 1966 impala ss
Yes, the bolt holes are already there
The 65 is definitely a good looking car. I like all the Impalas from 58-65, except I don’t care for the 60 as much. I had a 64 convertible and I liked that because it had the same roofline as the hardtop. Usually if you get a convertible you have to sacrifice the look of the hardtop roof. The 65 also has a superior frame to the earlier models. I also had a 66 Impala and I didn’t like it quite as much because of the taillights. It’s still a nice car but in my opinion it lost some of its charm when they changed the taillights. My favorite Impala as far as looks go is the 58 because it reminds me of a Corvette. It’s kinda like if Chevy had done to the Corvette what Ford did to the T Bird only Chevy kept both. I also like the 59 and the 61 a lot because they’re still kinda Corvette like and in 61 you could get the 409 so it’s also in a class by itself. I like early Impalas. I just think they’re classy and cool.
You definitely make a lot of good points. Thanks for commenting, and thanks for watching.
2 reasons: 1 evening orchid 2 409. Those 2 1 year only items are what make the '65 the best ever.
I agree with you on those 2 reasons
Love the 2 antenna look👏👏👏
Me too, those are from 1962 impalas
I painted a 55 Buick Roadmaster for my boss 2-tone, and I changed the metallic Color to the 65 Impala Tahitian Turqoise. (without asking him). The color scheme was well received, and another one got the same colors, and later also a 60 foot Hatteras boat.
Very nice color
Thanks for this video! Always loved the 60s impalas and Impalas in general. Your car looks impeccable! Interesting facts. You car looks great! I remember when the newest Impala came out Motor trend headlined “Suddenly it’s 1965 Again!”
I really appreciate it. Thanks for watching
I prefer a car w/ a little room, this is right size. The front has a slant to it that makes it look fast sitting still. The rear taillights look best too. I like 62,63,65 & 67..also the 75..
Did I mention the roof line?
I agree with all of your comments . Thanks for your comment
Thanks for watching
I beg to differ with you ,my 67 Buick Rivera 430/400 Wildcat will run circles around Impala All Day Long🇺🇸🥃
That’s cool, but I only said 65 was the best year for Impalas. There are a lot of other cars that are faster. Thanks for watching
love them 65 stock or bad to the bone they make nice old school muscle cars I have 2 one original and one bad to the bone hot rod
That’s great. The best of both worlds. Thanks for watching
Nailed it. I have a 65’ SS, no other year compared!
That’s true 100 percent
My first car was given to me by my dad in 73 who bought his 1965 Impala SS brand new. It had a 327 bench seat 4 speed. Those are rare ones. Someone hit it and demolished the gem while it was parked in Oct of 75. It was in cherry condition. That was sad. My dad loved the SS, my mom hated bucket seats so his brother in law worked at GM and told him they can make the SS with the bench seat 4 speed. It was white with black interior just as the one here in the video minus the console and buckets. It had the manifold vacumm gauge also. I wished that I still had it.
Wow, that really was a rare one. I hate that it was destroyed. Thanks for sharing your story with me.
@@ImpalaCadillacRestoModDIY Out of curiosity a couple of years ago, I looked to see if the "Y" pleating SS bench seat cover reproductions were available and found that it's obsolete. A custom upholstery shop would have to re produce it. The back seat cover is available only. That would suck if I still had it! Lol.
Nice car. Had a 67 convertible, same color, with 283 2bbl with powerglide. It was a nice car but a real dog.
Yeah it’s definitely not a race car. But a good cruiser
I enjoyed your video so much. I’m the proud owner of two, 1965 Impala Super Sport’s. My favorite part is that incredible rooftop dropping down into that massive back window. Ride with a smile on your face and leave them in the dust wondering!
I really appreciate you watching this video, and thanks for the nice comments. I agree the styling of the 65 is perfect.
Nice ride sir
Thanks very much
1965 & 1968 were my favorites in the Impala line...
They are definitely both nice cars. I had a 66 and a 63 ss too
NOT the best year for Chevturd Impala.
Thanks , but what’s your favorite year?
@@ImpalaCadillacRestoModDIY I dislike all GM garbage/junk.
Awesome informative video!
Glad to help
I totally agree with everything you pointed out in your video....the tail lights are my favorite feature. I've kept mine stock except for a little accent bling under the hood and dual TransAm like exhaust chrome double chrome tips coming out of the sides. I was the 2nd owner...had it since 1966.....that's 58 years. Yikes! Been taking it to Hot August Nights in Reno for 34 years. Yu have to come out for that sometime....just let me know
Would love to talk to you about installing the sequential tail lights.....VERY NIVE touch
Wow you have really kept it a long time, that’s great. I made a video of the sequential tail light install on my brothers 66 caprice you should watch it. It’s not identical, but close to the same installation.
65 is my favorite year. I had one back in the day, and I want another one!
I had a 66 impala in high school, and I really like them too.
It has no unnecessary design elements. Every line and every part is sculpted perfectly.
I agree with you.
That’s right
Thank you for the info! I had not seen that toll before.. I used a hand pump vac tool, but after many years it is now toast. I have a Harbor Freight near my house so I may get one of these.
It worked well for me
My first car was a '65 Impala SS convertible, with the 396 V8. It had the automatic transmission, so I had the mysterious Manifold Vacuum gauge instead of a tachometer. It was the most extravagant, exciting car I ever owned. I gave it up when I had my daughter. There was no way to install a child car seat. 😢
Mine has a vacuum gauge too. All Automatic SS cars had it.
Thank you very much for this video! It has been 30+ years since I had to do this and I did not remember how. You really helped me!
You are very welcome
@@ImpalaCadillacRestoModDIY Your Caddy is super cool! I ordered the tool you showed and some sealer. I have an 91 Caddy that has that style trim. It has a (plastic?) filler between the trim and the glass, so that should be interesting... Thank you again!
I call BS. Sorry. '65 Impala did not have sequential light turn signals.
The tail lights are an aftermarket modification. I never said they were stock.
@@ImpalaCadillacRestoModDIY I never said that you said they were stock. Bail on the fancy sequential turn signals. That a Ford / Mercury Cougar thing. Get rid of them. Just sayin.
Thanks for your recommendation, it’s just a custom modification. Surprisingly else likes them. I have not had any other negative comments about them. Thanks for commenting though. I like them though.
