It most likely depicts the Surrender of an Austrian General to Prussia during the Austro-Prussian War of 1866, part of the German wars of unification of the mid 19th Century. Also called the Brother's War (Deutscher Bruderkrieg) or German Civil War, it stands together with the two Schleswig Wars of 1848 and 1864 respectively and the Franco-Prussian war of 1870/71 as one of the conflicts shaping the formation of a unified and modern german state and empire, also called the "Second Reich" under Otto von Bismarck. As a Malay, this hits hard. We could not manage to unify like the Germans. In southern Thailand, few Patani Malays kept retaliating against the central government while the rest slowly lose their cultural identity. In Sumatera and Borneo, the local Malays are abandoning their distinct dialects due to the nature of unitarianism in the republic of Indonesia while they are slowly getting displaced by Javan immigrants. Meanwhile, in Malaysia, Malay political power is starting to grow weak. Giving way to the chauvinistic Chinese population, which had already dominated large parts of Malaysian economy. And here, I can only think of what the future would look like for the Malay race. What would become of us? only Allah knows. As a staunch Malay nationalist, this is truly the worst timeline to live in.
