I remember doing this to my Box TV and it was permanatly damaged. I had to deal with this for a few month untill I got a new TV. This was 2013 and I was 7.

when I was little, I used a small emant on a television a little bigger and bigger than in this video, the result was a purple and yellow trace appeared on both sides of the screen, I tried to remove them remove but I get worse all! so I acted as if nothing had happened when they asked me the question.

If you put metal plates at the poles of the ceramic magnet to close the magnetic circuit it will be able to support a lot more weight. I managed to lift 60 lbs with one of those 2X1X1/2 inch ceramic magnets.

That's Lenz's law: as the ferromagnet approaches the copper loop or cylinder, the conductive metal will repulse it, causing resistance and slowing it down, and on the way out it doesn't want it to leave and flips to attraction, and when this is quickly repeated it generates electricity and electromagnetism. The left and right hand laws.

I did this at a play place a grocery store had. there were magnet toys on the floor in front of a tv playing The Croods, and I was bored playing with them, so I was looking for places to stick them to. I tried the edge of the tv screen, and I saw cool rainbow effects on the screen, and then I put it right to the screen. After a couple minute, an employee noticed, and pulled me away and told me to play with something else. I don't know if they told my mom when she picked me up

Problems with MHDs: Water (fresh or salt) has a weak magnetic dipole, and isn't easily influenced by magnets, on a small scale it looks efficient, moving something big escalates the efficiency problem. The MHD generate highly turbulent (and subsequently noisy) exhaust flows as a result Silent is not a word anyone would use and the moment you waste money to put those on a sub, pretty much everyone in the world will know exactly where you are.

What I'm wondering is could a magnet stop a solid copped bullet. When a magnet is thrown at a copper plate it creates and em field that slows the magnet and the strength of the field increases the harder it's thrown. It makes the copper plate hot from absorbing the inertial energy. I doubt the magnet would stop a bullet shot right at it but maybe if it's shot down a rail lined with magnets it might. I thought of the idea when I saw a video about using a swing arm to launch a small projectile into space.

The flux diagram of a Halbach array special arrangement of permanent magnets that augments the magnetic field on one side of the array while cancelling the field to near zero on the other side.[1][2] This is achieved by having a spatially rotating pattern of magnetisation.

Nice video. One bit of irony: regardless the corrosion/rust, those magnets are still attractive. Irony is an interesting construct in our English language, but often is not recognized. One easy way to know if it's irony: put a magnet against it. If it sticks, it's irony.

The number of stator teeth (i.e. the number of screws) used in the middle part must be: N1 ± N2 (with N1, N2 the number of N/S magnet pairs on each rotor). The sum is for opposite direction, the difference is for the same direction. Here: N1 = 16 magnets / 2 = 8, N2 = 4 magnets / 2 = 2. The number of screws is 10 = 8 + 2, so opposite direction. Had you chosen 8 - 2 = 6 screws the directions of rotation would be the same.
