@@mikeglendinningandtheguita7282 I can, but not very comfortable for me.
“This is it this is the place where it all happened. I’ll tell you what you gotta do, you see, you go over there and start playing a piece.” “Why?” “Cuz there’s a fellow I got to see and if you playin it right, he’s gonna come around.” “Right Willie, who is this guy?” “Don’t ask me who, you know damn well who!” “Keep it going you standing at the crossroads now, this is where it counts.” “I thought I wasn’t supposed to go down the crossroads Willie?” “We ain’t here for you, we’re here for me.” “You all need a ride?” “What’s you waitin for huh?” “Cmon Willie, lets get to Fulton’s Point huh.” “What time he comin round?” “ What time who! Comin round?” “You don’t be foolin me! I’m talkin about Legba!” (laughter) “Legba? Where you been slick? He done changed his name to Scratch!” “ I don’t want none of your sass! I got business with the man.” “Mean old bastard!” “Forget him honey, he’s crazy.” “ Now you sure you all don’t need a ride?” “ I ain’t ridin with the likes of you smart ass, nor your bitch neither!” (laughter) “Suit yourself, old man!” “ You lookin for me Willie Brown? It’s been a longtime hasn’t it Willie? “Yes, yes it has.” “ Willie, what’s going on here?” “Yes sir, been a longtime. You were about 17 when we saw each other here on this old crossroads wasn’t it? What can I do for you Willie?” “ I come to sees ya, to tell you the deals off!” “Oh no, according to this here piece of paper the deal’s still on!” “You can tear that up, and give me some peace!” “Now why on earth would I wanna do that?” “You sloughed up on your end of things I didn’t end up with what I wanted. I didn’t end up nothing, I didn’t get nothing!” “You got what you we’re supposed to get blues man, ain’t nothing ever as good as what we want it to be, but that ain’t no reason to break a deal.”
Great lesson and song.

Hola pregunto, que afinación tiene ?????
G 6th-1st DGDGBD
My very favorite song
You're a fantastic guitar teacher! Thank you so much from Galway, Ireland!
You are more than welcome! Holler if you ever have any questions. I do give private lessons online!
the version of the song is my best favorite, thank you share and play.
Awesome to see this song unpacked Brian. Love it.
Cool. The thing he does at the end of the song would also be nice to know how to play
I don't know if this is exact but it's close. Hold the slide on the 12th fret covering the 1st 2nd and 3rd strings. Then strum down from the 5th string
@@thefishinmusician801 awesome, thanks a lot! I’ve been wanting to learn this song for a long time, I just found your other video with the first vocal verse. I’ll dig into all of it more but i think i need to get a new guitar (I’ve said THAT before!) with higher action. I’m just starting to learn slide and i keep hitting the frets. If you ever decide to just do a cover of the whole song I’ll be watching! Anyway, you’ve got a new subscriber
@@Electric_Funeral Luckily some of the best guitars for slide are easy on the pocket book. Unless you are searching for a resonator. Although, there are budget friendly reso's too! Anyway, look into 50's 60's acoustics that are NOT solid top. They usually have a good stinging mid range tone perfect for slide and often already have a bit higher action. Kay, Harmony are always good. I also give lessons online if you ever want some extra help. Always happy to answer question anytime too so don't hesitate to reach out. My email is in my video descriptions. Good Luck
@@thefishinmusician801 awesome, I will keep it in mind when i get stuck. I’m thinking about getting a cheap resonator to start with,I’ve heard some good things about the recording king dirty 30’s. Once i see if i am any good at slide I might upgrade then. But in the past I’ve always gotten discouraged from all the noise I made hitting the frets since I keep my action so low on all my guitars.
I just learned about Blind Johnson and love his guitar playing
That's great! He was one of the best! Music would not be the same today without him!
Oh yes! Love that :) Thank You very much for the lesson!

Which resonator is that? (I have been looking for one)
National trolian. I bought it about 6 years ago when prices were much better! LOL!!!
@thefishinmusician801 it's beautiful! Stay warm. I am looking at used, new, blemished...maybe $1500.00. I have played for years and have never owned a resonator. My wife says I should sell something first.
@@johnwashburn3793 Haha! I've heard the same thing. But ya know how many guitars you need?.?.? Just one more! On a serious not though. Resonators are super cool and versatile instruments and well worth the investment!
Another great lesson. I’ll be smiling until the holiday. Hoping for a grand daughter accompaniment on the uke😊 Thank you!
@thefishinmusician801 always one more. I also want a Telecaster, for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
I love Elmore James and I’ve been wanting to learn slide for ages. This video was my first time trying slide and you made it very easy to learn! I’m so happy and proud of myself!! Thank you so much 👍😄🎵🎶
Thanks so much! My contact information is in the video description. I would love to hear your progress! Good luck and holler if you ever have any questions!
Dem vocals boy were you from Coolidge or Wortham. Cause you show was sounding straight out the sticks (country). Blind Lemon was born in that Coolidge Texas area
HAHA! Thanks for that! Actually I was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin and raised in St. Louis MO.
Excellent. Especially good when you breakdown the rhythm with the thumb into small stages. Has helped my playing a lot. If ever your in the UK will get you a warm beer
Glad to hear it's been helpful! Hopefully I can take you up on the beer someday!
Love the rhythm and technique. 😂😂
can you give us a tutorial on how to play the guitar in Paris Blues by The Doors
I will take a look at it.
Cool. That’ll be great if you’re able to give us a tutorial on how to play it
That song took me right back to the 1920's Delta and the hills of WV, both at the same time. Great!
Thanks! Much appreciated!
Wow, I've been listening to Muddy since the mid 60's and swear you could probably play in Muddy's place on his records, and no one would know. Great and subscribed!
That's one heck of a compliment! Much appreciated!
thank you dude. I enjoyed this.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for your videos
You are most welcome 🙏! Glad you are enjoying them!
Nice pre '33' you have there.
Thanks! As the story goes, I'm only the second owner!
Cool! Me too. I have a '32' I got from the original owner's family. Had a headstock break early in it's life. Stayed in the case that way until i got it so it's mint. Aside from the repair of course. Cheers.@@thefishinmusician801
Another winner!
Hi Martin! Thanks so much!
Cool video
Glad you liked it!
I just ran across your video. You're a good teacher. It's important to make it as easy and enjoyable as you do calling out the string and freits.. ✌
I'm glad you are finding the lessons helpful!!
I like recognizing a level of listening that goes to an almost scary place btdt got the t shirt
I’m back working on this. You have a great teaching style. I feel like I need to pay for the lesson. Do you have a link?

Hi Brian Great stuff! I have been playing guitar for 4 years. 4700 hours in practice. Im a blues man. Four months ago I had a tablesaw accident and almost lost some fingers on my left hand. Im left with all my fingers...but they dont all work. I cant bend my middle or ring fingers. They are straight. Ive taken up slide. I was curios to see if I could ask you a few questions?
Of course! You can ask here although my email is in my video description. That is probably best. Looking forward to talking with you
Just need blind dog willy
No, you just need Scratch! I’ll meet you at the crossroads, just bring your guitar and your soul.
Cara, a tua didática é perfeita. Eu não sei tocar guitarra, mas, sinceramente,.vc explica de uma maneira que até eu entendo. Deu vontade de fazer aulas de guitarra devido a tua fantástica demonstração. Isso de falar por números é muito bom. Parabéns!!! Eu daqui do Sul do Brasil. Grande abraço 🫂
Thanks so much!! Hope you start playing!!! Let me know if you ever have any questions!
One of the most badass songs of all time.
No doubt!
