    @@savagepandaprojects Yeah man. Invest in a good matte leather conditioner. It shouldn’t be that shiny. That being said to each their own and if you like the glossy leather it’s your whip and your choice! Just from factory the leather is muted. At least that’s been the case in my B8 and my B9.5 S4s I’ve owned. Again, beautiful car regardless that shine just threw me a curve ball.

    Definitely not with it. Get the 3.0T in the S4, SQ5 and S5… all of these upgrades including Downpipe are extremely easy to perform since it’s a mono turbo hot center V. On top of it all, the DSG trans will not be as reliable as the 8-Speed ZF.

    Is 145k a concern for the 4.0t? Looking at a '16 for 16k seems clean but mileage and repair costs for audi are a bit daunting. Just fits my price range for a toy

    I mean it's likely gonna need 10k+ in repairs at that mileage. Even then wouldn't surprise me if you're gonna be dealing with oil consumption issues as well. I'd pass on that myself

    Wasn't expensive for me and I've owned the C7.5 S6 for about 2 years. I use plugs and coils from FCP and swap them yearly. Using the stage 1 IE tune with E85 and power is perfect. No need for downpipe or RS turbos

    The limitation as to modifications comes from the fact that the stronic is a dual-clutch transmission and so far no one has decoded the code to code the transmission and it cannot be programmed and the transmission itself has the potential in series up to 700 NM max. And the drop in price is the only idea I can think of that Audi wanted to go to compete with the competition and they changed the price to be lower than the competition followed by quality ( although the performance inside is good ) But it gives the impression of being very plastic at some points compared to its predecessors I own a 2019 A7 C8 55 tfsi

    I'm what you described at 6:40 - I'm looking at 2014 Audi S6/56k Miles, priced for about $28K, I looked up the VIN to see if the recall for the oil screen was fixed, nothing came up, I'm a bit confused when it comes to that, what percentage of Audi's had the problematic oil screen? If I call any Audi service dept, will they be able to see how the Audi was built (built using a different oil screen)/ to see if it has a recall that was addressed/ to see that it had an open recall and if it does would I pay anything out of pocket to have the oil screen recall serviced? I called the Used dealer in Maryland (where I live) I'm buying it from, I wanted to test drive it, but they said it's under MSI (MD state inspection) which makes me feel more at ease as MSI is a fairly strict inspection also so that I don't have to pay for the inspection or repairs myself I were to buy out of state. Carfax history is honestly phenomenal compared to other Audis, 2 Owner, and both of them serviced them early and frequently How much am I looking to spend maintaining the vehicle every year? and my biggest concern is the oil screen. Thanks

  • @savagepandaprojects
    @savagepandaprojects19 күн бұрын

    So with that case you want to get as much detail on service records as possible. From what I have seen ALL Audi 4.0T models (A8/S8, S6/S7/RS7) 2012-2018 are affected by the oil screen issue. Also keep in mind, even if service records show the oil screen TSB was performed and a "revised screen" was installed, its still inherently a terrible design having that oil screen as a potential restriction. Don't let the oil screen concern alone scare you away from these cars, but just please be mindful of it. Most people once they get their hands on these cars they are focusing on upgrades and/or reliability and in order to support that you're replacing turbos along with removing the oil screen altogether. My old 2013 S6 had 69K on the stock turbos when I got it (clean one owner car, never previously modified) When we did the overhaul at the shop, the stock turbos we're nearly siezed up. I always say You must budget for replacing all of those related components. Often times I hear people say dealers won't replace worn stock turbos during the oil screen recall if the shaft play isnt bad enough. So like I said in the video, you NEED to have some funds set aside if you plan on getting one of these cars. Hope that helps!

    Audi depreciation is real, I bought a Q5 in July 2022 and already had about £6500 negative equity. The upshot is that I managed to strike a deal with my local Audi marshal dealership for a A6 with 11 miles on the clock, black edition for £39k… technically a 2nd hand as it was a showroom model. All bells and whistles as it were… pity about the rear seat cupholders but will mod them in later.

    My boyfriend has an arteon and in less than 3 years of owning this vehicle, we have popped 4 tires and recently, when going to fill our vehicle, the gas cap wouldn't unlock. Googling it shows it's a "known issue". We will have to pay to get it fixed. We also have to go to VW because they are the only ones who can "unlock" it apparently. Over $1,000 in tires so far, driving less than 20K a year. NEVER will we ever buy a car like this again. We have popped these tires from small potholes in busy roads so it is not a user error here. Way too low profile. Never again.

    The rods most likely yes (for most of these similar models) however I don't believe the pistons are forged. There was a great technical diagram on the Audi 4.0TT motors from the C7+ S6/S7/RS7 that was published a few years ago. I know those engines didn't get forged pistons so doubt they would be forged on any of the 2.0T variants

    I know it's an old video , but do you remember what was the option with "reduced noise" about? Was that meaning the haldex pump is off? I want to buy a proper haldex controller from VDVeer, mainly to be able for powering off the pump on highways (less wear and fuel consumption). But that module is so expensive, almost 1k euro. If I could do it with a regular cheap OBD2 hardware and software, would be great. I have a gen4 haldex, so I am not sure if that option in OBD11 or Carista..?
