Stock height, no skid plates but she is more than capable, while being my wifes daily. This model has a (above average) 550w stereo system with heated & cooled front seats & a post possession OEM class III hitch & transmission cooler. I test drove that exact rig you have as it was sitting on the lot while I was getting my oil changed. I know the salesman, so we took a good test drive. It was a nice ride and absolutely a must buy if you needed something like that BUT we have a very capable 2 row rig that packs all of the Pilot in a smaller package, for us. While all the things you mention are valid this vehicle is not meant to be a 4x4 trail vehicle. It's a mom car with awd to get you around in bad weather or a very easy non paved road (trail). So what about us moms that want both, with the extra room, reliability, somewhat lower price 🙄, and better fuel economy than a truck, that the Pilot seemingly offers? I do want offroad (even our rural roads here are awful, and I drive through our fields/pastures often.) I've looked at a 4 runner, but we really need the third row seating and cargo room. And I'm unconvinced that Jeeps are reliable. My neighbor has one and they spend more time and money working on that thing...so for someone who actually needs all of the above, I'm open to suggestions, because we're actively looking right now.

    On my 24 Ridgeline I spent so much time attempting to reinstall the splash guard only to cut half of it away and then give up the lost cause. Plus having the splash guard off made it easier to install the skid plate next. Also on the 24 Ridgeline I did not have to cut out that hole in the bumper. It will fit underneath the bumper you might just have to trim a little off the very bottom edge that sticks out.

    Love your point of view and impartial take on the spacer lift front. What's your take on the Flatout coilovers since they're the only non-spacer suspension option offered out there? Especially given the mixed reviews, JonDZ and Manny's aversion to them, and even CampingRandy having some issues with them as of late according to his latest KZread live? Is it worth to keep waiting for another option from those like Manny, or is it worth going with Flatout now?

  • @no-lodesigns
    @no-lodesigns3 ай бұрын

    I've never talked with anyone at flatout so I have no personal experience. The theme seems to be love them or hate them. They require people to be very involved with their suspension and I'd say most people aren't there and don't care. They just want a lift and for it to ride the same. So spacer lifts work very well. I'd say some of Manny and Jon's stuff may be to extreme for people as well. They're going for max flex on stock axles and trying to accommodate the full Overland builds at the same time. A spring and strut lift right off the shelf isn't here just yet.
