I have been riding/racing motorcycles over 40 years and my first helmet was Kiwi... since then I have had only Arai helmets from 1983. Just ordered a new Arai RX-7V EVO Isle of Man limited edition helmet.

I've been riding with the Arai Contour-x for 4 weeks now after a gruelling search for my new lid, so I'll give you all the highs and lows... Highs: 1) This thing is SOO unbelievably comfortable. It's like pushing your head into a velvet condom. (And that's a good thing!) 2) It's light. Real light. The reviews say the weight is on the higher side, but I find it remarkably light. Almost AGV light. 3) The ventilation is crazy good. You live in a hot climate? This thing is going to keep you cool. 4) My glasses go in with ease and sit on my nose. In fact, easier than any other AGV, Shoei or Shark helmet I've worn in the past. 5) It's got a smaller footprint than my old GT-Air... no bobblehead effect in a size XL. 6) It is beautiful. The Arai craftsmanship is stunning. I got the Face graphic, and I find myself just staring at the thing. 🙂 Lows: 1) Hot dang, it's expensive! The most money I have ever spent on a lid, but I keep them a long time so that's life. 2) WITH ALL THE VENTS OPEN, there is a lot of wind noise. But you see, ventilation requires moving air. Moving air is not quiet. When you close the two small top vents, it quiets down considerably. If you want a silent lid, go with the Shoei GT-Air 2 or 3. 3) The visor mechanism takes some getting used to. I have an old Arai Vector-2, so I'm used to it. Not a deal-breaker. 4) No photochromic shield available as of writing this. It's okay, I own sunglasses. ------------- Regrets: Zero Wallet: Hurting

I just got a corsair X a little while ago. I was having a hell of a time closing it completely. This video helped with that. now it works like it should. I kinda wish this was a more known thing. Going to keep this in my favorites, just because I'll forget if I get a new bucket

WHY oh why couldn't you just put something larger on the visor for us to grab to open the d*mn visor? Like even just a slightly larger tab? The de-mist bit is nice (though not truly enough to stay fog free), but the visor remains nearly un-openable with gloves on without using two hands. I spent $1000 CAD on a helmet I can barely open. If there were literally ANY other options on the market that fit my oval head, I surely would have went with that over my Signet-X because of the visor and lack of any other extra features (ie drop down internal sun visor etc).

I've tried my best for over an hour but I absolutely can not get my cheek pads back in on my Corsair X. Nothing clicks into place. I dont know what to do, have to bring it back to the store and if they cant reinstall I'll have to return it.

It works as intended (exactly as shown in the video) IF you are also not wearing any gloves. Once gloves come into the equation, the F word is required for the visor to open.

The laminate is so fragile. Gentle cleaning with a microfiber cloth and water still damages the film.

Just switched to an adventure bike after years of cruisers and touring. Currently have a Signet X that's pushing 6 years old. I've been looking and trying on others like the Klim Krios pro. Yes it's light but doesn't really fit me well. The Shoei is nice too and I've had Shoei before (Still have a Neotech) but my Arai Signet X is my favorite! The fit and comfort and quality of Arai is pulling me back. Almost purchased an XD4 but I like the features of the XD5 like the more visual correct visor.

Why does the company which makes the product, make videos which don’t show the details of how the shade fits on to begin with??? I just spent $95 some odd and it won’t fucking go on. The only way the side things will fit on is if the shade is at a 90 degree angle to the main visor, then it won’t shut! I hope I got a defective one if not I’m sure any other design of how to attach a shade visor would have been better!!!

@@AraiHelmetAmericas My bad. I forgot I made this comment. I’ve had some bad luck lately. It turns out I was given the wrong visor, which had more material at the hinges, so no way was going to work, and I was speaking out of over an hour’s worth of frustration, as i usually don’t have too much trouble with helmet stuff, but the other day I also had an issue getting the side covers back on for the main visor then this happened and I was in disbelief. However, I looked more closely at the hinges of the pro shade visor and there was material that wasn’t supposed to be in the corners by the hinges. So I tried putting the original smoke visor back on and it went right on, so I retract my statement, I just wasn’t expecting to have the wrong visor. Please forgive me.

@@AraiHelmetAmericas It’s a great visor and it snaps into place pretty easily just make sure you know that they have more than one size pro shade visor and that you have the correct one, because they look very similar minus a couple small details. Again, I’m really sorry for letting my emotions get the better of me, my mother is in the hospital just having had a third stroke and things aren’t looking good, so stress is a bit high right now. Oh and right before I got the wrong visor, a Packtalk Neo I had just received after being delayed 3-4 days in shipping arrived with a cradle missing the front tab which holds the unit in the cradle. So that wouldn’t stay in and work either. So when I say I’ve had a little bad luck recently, it’s no joke. Again, please forgive me. To add a little positive to this the Corsair X helmet is the best helmet I’ve ever had and I also have a Shoei X-14,which I love too, but the Corsair fits my head better than any helmet of any kind that I’ve worn, and that’s no joke either.

I've put over 12k miles on my DesertX in under a year. Every mile wearing an XD-4. Great helmet, even in the +110F Texas heat. Just checked out the XD-5 at my local Ducati dealer a few days ago, will probably pick one up. Hope it's available in the Diamond White like my XD-4. 😊

I'm really liking the quick release visor and larger chin vent! Hopefully this helmet fixes the other issues with the xd-4... namely the face shield which doesn't go high enough when flipped up, and the cheek pads which don't have the best attachment design. I don't know how I feel about the styling yet. The chin bar doesn't seem to stick out very far, which is another issue I had with the xd-4. For off road use in hot weather, my mouth always felt too close to the chin vent. I prefer a more "moto" style helmet rather than the more street look of the xd-5. The idea of a rotational impact system also makes me consider trying another helmet when I have to retire the xd-4. Can't wait to try one on!

Just a small bit of information for you, all of our helmets have a rotational management system, it is the round smooth shell of the helmet, which we have been doing for around 50 years. We feel it is better to deal with the rotational impact forces with the outside shell of the helmet. Thanks and Happy Riding this season.

I just bought the aria quantum x after having the RF1400 for a year. I am so mad I am ready to throw it in the trash. 1000$ ameican. Coms don't fit, can't get the damn cheek pads back in with or without coms and of course, the store is closed until Tuesday when I am at work. I am so freaking mad. They said there was cut outs for coms .. there isnt.. they said it was easy it is fing impossible and to be honest the comparison between the RF1400 and the aria . The shoei is a much better built helmet. It didn't fit my head well and damn near ripped my ears off every time I removed it so I went looking for something else. I COULDNT BE MORE DISAPPOINTED AND FURIOUS in my purchase of this garbage
