Guys, I have been using Photo Ai for a while now, and I have been blown away by how goo d it is. How different is Gigapixel to the upres function in Photo Ai? Is it worth having both plugins? I mainly work with Photoshop.

This program should have been maximally effective a decade ago. Never trust a company that depends upon annualised releases to do the best they can with any given release. Drip drip drip the improvements out, rather than serving the customers.

Interface design is decades old. Even upscaling is decades old. Their upscaling technology is still bitterly disappointing in many use cases, and the focus primarily on figures is incredibly limiting.

Would you criticize Adobe for releasing ever more feature rich versions of Photoshop and compare it to version 1 released 34 years ago? Apart from advances in software development, with Ai being the obvious example, computer hardware continues to move forward, and software needs to be rewritten to leverage it. Anyway, you've trolled me so I guess you win. ☹

The commercial use limitation didn't exist when I paid for my Video AI. They used to announce that NETFLIX was a client, indicating that big companies were using it. Now TopazLabs changes the rules AFTER you buy the products and wants regular people to pay 1000 dollars more to get what they already had? I used to indicate their products to everyone I knew, but I'd never buy anything from them again. This is seen as immoral in so many levels!

Three days ago Topaz Labs removed my comment that was a responses to the video advertisement above. Why? This is not good optics. I will post my comment again, and request a reply from the vendor. "Topaz Labs redefining what is and isn't "professional" use of their products seems opportunistic and a little mean minded. For a number of years everyone from amateur and independent film-makers to high-end studios have used Video AI. Throughout this time no video artist, whatever his or her status in the wide world of film production would have defined Video AI as a hobbyist play thing. Now, Topaz Labs have introduced a new version of Video AI so cashed up customers (or their employers) can share the app’ across artist’s workstations. This would seem a profitable business move for Topaz Labs. However, what does this company intend to do with customers who are not employees of major studios, broadcast TV or the streaming giants? Topaz Labs, when you write, “Video AI is one application with different designations inside that unlock unique features. The Pro version unlocks additional features like multi-GPU rendering and seat management controls. Pro license also permits commercial use”, what are you stating? Please publicly define in plain language what “different designations”, and, “- the Pro version unlocks additional features“ means. In 2024 developers of still and motion image editing software are at a moral and legal crossroads. Recently Adobe was taken to court for misrepresentation in advertising. This comes as a great many of Adobe customers now question this vendor’s monopoly, along with Adobe’s nervous promise to protect customer privacy. For corporate credibility Topaz Labs need to publicly declare what they intend to do with Video AI. Are they phasing this app’ out? Is Video Pro to become a boutique software, made and marketed exclusively for the high-end film and broadcast industries? Once Topaz Labs have done this individual consumers will be able to make an informed decision as to whether we wish to keep supporting this company."

Bring back the old menu! Not suggestions. Why would you give "ideas" panel when you could put all options there, is not like there were tons of options to make a simplified version. Just bring it back. Suggestions is just an unnecessary over engineering feature replacing the panel with all options.

Perhaps I am mistaken, but aren't the old "all options" the same as clicking the "Add Enhancements", which shows all options? I believe what is now happening, is that Photo AI is analyzing the image and suggesting appropriate enhancements based on the analysis. I like this, even though I may not utilize them all. I still have the option of seeing all the possible enhancements by clicking the "Add Enhancements" button. They haven't removed anything....just added an improvement.

It has always been allowed to use the regular Video ai commercially. I never bought a license for only recreational use. I never used it commercially but i wont be bothered if i need to. Well I dont like this. Wheres Autopilot gone? Since I upgraded a few weeks ago I havent had a chance to use this software yet, but dont like the look of this at all. I havent spotted what Dave Kelley has to say yet on this, I`ll reserve real judgement until I see his take on this. Also I`ve just purchases Anthony Morganti`s course on Photo AI, not looked at that yet either, so I wonder what he thinks of this.

The new UI is awful, text recognition is broken, it seems to go backwards not forwards. My experience is that I get better results from the old separate Denoise programme, no longer available, and others say that version 2.3.2 of Photo AI is better than version 3. Topaz needs to concentrate on what is important to users, not on developing fancy UIs at the expense of basic core functionality.

Looks good! One suggestion, if I may. Can you also work a bit more on the sharpen models? I feel that they are not up to standard compared to the upscale models. Moreover, they are worse than the models in Sharpen AI which hasn't been updated for a long time. Can we at least have those imported in Photo AI? They do a much better job. Same with the denoising models. They tend to create artifacts and ugly edges. Denoise AI, which, again, hasn't been updated in a long time too, has better denoising models, I think, and they don't produce ugly edge artifacts. I hope you consider these improvements. BTW, great job on the recent updates to Gigapixel AI! Now I tend to use it more than Photo AI even, haha. :)

Dont forget, even with a custom built PC with a high end expensive graphics card, it still going to takes hours, days, weeks and even months to export your videos. Hopefully you got plenty of time to spare.

One thing for sure, this software will save me alot of money, don’t need upgrade system, still cut HD using my old software which has load of plugins, and no subscription required. Then upscale 4K for client that needs it. I still shoot 4K though

You can view the Original image while using the Compare tool two ways: 1. Click on the Eye icon 2. Press and Hold the Space bar However, if you're using the AI Model Recovery - you will not be able to use Compare Tool.

Photo AI does have more plugin options and also includes different features that are not available on Gigapixel, such as Remove Tool, Color Balancing, and Light Adjustment.
