I hate to point this out, but the no till seed drill is cutting the soil to about 6" deep, I.e. it I tilling the soil.

Thank you. We are aware of the "naming" problem of the hydraulic drill, we have a newer version of that specific product which is better regarding hydraulic control on the units and that it is actually more a "minimum till" implement. But we are busy trying to update the products. But it will take some time to do so on all platforms for our product names have been used for so long. The only "real" no tillage product would be a tine planter regarding feedback from consultants.

Perhaps I am just not getting it. As the disc seeder goes thru the soil, is it not tilling the soil?

Yes indeed. More likely a minimum tillage implement regarding more in depth discussions from agricultural consultants. Working on describing the products better. Minimum disturbance of the soil, min tillage more likely. The discs slice into the soil and the seed boots place the seed in the opened furrow and the press wheel close the furrow for better seed to soil contact. The Piket implements have great results when sowing in established pastures as well as on prepared fields. But can be set up for any of the above sowing methods. The settings must be right for the method you want to use the implement for.

Ja, Pieter De Kock. Die druk word deur 4 hidrouliese silinders verplaas vanaf die middel seksie, na die vlerke toe. En gee rofweg 250 kilogram druk per ry. 'n Goeie opsie is om 'n penetrometer grond digtheids of grond kompaksie meet toestel te gebruik om gronddigtheid te meet om die grond druk te bepaal.
