    I’ve had several different models of Foodsaver vacuum sealers over the last 15 years. kzread.infoUgkxLarn2Zt7095D2lp3tN-bj5JtYPg3Wz2 I picked up the Nesco unit because it consistently receives top reviews it all across the Internet. Get this if you’re serious about vacuum sealing. This is the most have unit. The only tiny annoyance is not being able to lock the lid when you put it in storage that is such a tiny nitpick however, it’s almost worth not mentioning.

    Is a 11in roll a better buy rather than a 8in roll, since you can create smaller sized bags? Thanks

    Do you know the thickness of the bag roll that will fit in the bag storage compartment? is: will a 25 foot or 50 foot roll available on Amazon fit and able to close the handle? Thanks

  • @honeybellehillhomestead3033

    Technically, if you left enough room between the seal and the food, yes. You have to have a couple of inches to fit into vacuum channel. So each time you seal, you would lose a couple of inches of bag until you couldn't seal any more. Hope that helps!

    I just diced and froze 10 large onions and changed my technique just a bit - I separated each compartment before doing the last seal on each and it helped with the bit of puckering I was getting when doing this video. Thanks for your comment!

    My FoodSaver died after 5 hard years of use. Have you use the FoodSaver brand sealers which do you prefer, Nesco or FoodSaver? I'm in the market for a new one.

  • @honeybellehillhomestead3033
    @honeybellehillhomestead30333 жыл бұрын

    I've owned two FoodSaver brand vacuum sealers that I bought used and they were okay, but not great. Just before I bought the Nesco, I purchased the FoodSaver fm2100. I did a LOT of research on the various models and it appears this model is identical to their gamesaver model, minus the camo coloring. I really liked it and it plowed through packaging 70 pounds of chicken breasts without a pause. It doesn't have any customization settings - you just push the button and go. I really liked it and in the end, I couldn't decide between the Nesco and the fm2100. My husband told me to keep them both, in case the Nesco fails. Nesco tends to be picky about what they put their name on, so I'm hopeful it will last, but I am having a bit of an issue with the gasket that I don't have with the FoodSaver. So, if you love the FoodSaver brand, I can recommend the fm2100. I ordered mine from Walmart.com.

    @@honeybellehillhomestead3033 This was such a helpful reply. Shopping for a replacement for our 3rd FoodSaver. I like the double seal because we also cut and make smaller bags(to store smoked cheese) but we have to do it with a single seal. The double seal will make it faster. The gasket issue is what we have with our FoodSaver. Our Kenmore was the best one; probably made by FoodSaver. Great video.
