    Don't want to hijack your video, but I just posted my Au sable thru paddle. Definitely not as well made as yours, but I gave it my best shot. Again, thanks for the inspiration. Not even sure how I found this video. But if I didn't, I never even would have done this trip. So I appreciate you making this.

    Anyone happen to know the name of the app he mentioned at the beginning of the video? I downloaded two of the apps but I cannot find where it shows the campsites available.

  • @AtlasAdventures
    @AtlasAdventures9 күн бұрын

    It’s “onX Hunt” map app but the paid version to show who owns the land. The two first campgrounds were first come first serve and then the last two spots were au sable river backcountry campsites you can find on recreation.gov. Forest service wants you to stop at lumberman’s monument to verify campsites but in this situation I just called them.

    @@AtlasAdventuresthanks for the reply! I’ve been digging around and I found that recreation.gov has an app with a great map to show campsite locations. My friends and I have narrowed down our spots and are planning to come the last week of August! Thanks.

    @@AtlasAdventures that’s what most of us locals call it I think! And if you ever need a person to float with let me know. I live up the road about 10 minutes north in Kaleva. We could do some pretty good fishing all around the area for sure.

    I’ve done that exact trip like three times now, one of my favorites in Michigan. Really enjoy your videos, and we have the same kayak, except mines the fishing version called the hook. I’ve been wanting to through paddle the entire Big Manistee for quite some time, but might have to put it off till next year. Even though I’m from Ohio, Michigan rivers are by far my favorite! Not sure if you’ve ever stumbled across my channel or not, but I’ve been doing backpacking and kayaking videos for about eight years, I really like your style.
