    Very poorly tuned return springs, it can be fixed if you take it apart then just remove the return springs and go to your local hardware store and try to find some that have similar tension as the deploy springs or contact any good otf manufacturer and they may sell you thier springs and this baby should be tuned up nicely! Also try a bit of powdered graphite in the moving parts as it is a dry lubricant that works well in OTF autos

    Nice review, Gavin does some phenomenal work. So nice, I bought it twice…..yes, I own two of these, worth every damn penny. Never was a fan of OTF because of the knife play, when this came along, I knew I had to own one (more like two). This thing has a SOLID lockup, almost as good as a full tang. The action is also smooth and gets smoother with time. I plan to take these out and make them my (almost) EDC. Wish I would have gotten in on the John Wick version drop, but I had to hold back due to cost. Also, remember knife laws are weird, so get one now while you can, no saying when these will be impossible to buy.

    IMHO the Tahoma Field Knife is the best tool you can take to the wilderness. I won’t go into the bush without it. Bought my first one 9 years ago and my second one a month later. I got TOPS to serrate the top edge on my second one, similar to the Bianchi Nighthawk II. I like to have a serrated blade but can’t stand it on the primary edge. This was a great compromise. Andy Tran told me that IF he was going to serrate the blade that’s where he would put it. The screwdriver bit was put there by Andy so he could use it to set up his photography equipment. The hole is a bullet puller. The TFK is one of my five absolute favorite knives. 👍🏼👍🏼🇺🇸 New subscriber here.

And this looks to be the answer for the auto I'm looking for. Looks sturdy and comfortable, and the blade looks great. Only complaint I hear is the button is hard to actuate? You are doing it the unsafe way. I have been using mine for over a year now and you put the spine of the blade all the way in the vice don't hang it off on one side or the other it's meant to hold the blade as solid as possible. The edge will be just as sharp but the knife will be more stable you just have to reprofile it sometimes because I have noticed the tip will be off on most knives more than not. So honestly it's better to reprofile anyway because after you do will will get a more consistent edge alignment. Don't take shortcuts it's not worth it. Also you can tell what degree the edge is just by setting the blade up in the tool and going up or down till the stone touches the blade edge at the right angle you don't need all the dance stuff it's really simple actually so don't over think it

  • @straighttothepoint3477
    @straighttothepoint3477Ай бұрын

    I pre-ordered mine from Andy Tran (the creator of the design philosophy of the knife) and waited four months, and I'm glad I did. It was HALF the price they are now. LOVE IT! I even made several kydex sheaths for it, but my favorite is an under the left arm rig that allows me to carry it reasonably concealed. Only recently did I finally get sick of nicking myself on that top edge, and I filed it dull and shiny. I also ditched that screwdriver deal on the end of the handle. I rounded it off and polished it smooth. It's the largest SMALL knife, or the smallest "big" knife, depending on how you look at it. At first you're like, holy shit that's huge.. but then you start using it and it's size and heft shrink and becomes very manageable. Heirloom quality. Take good care of it & pass it on to your son.

    It has been holding up very well! I actually gave this one to my dad quite some time ago, he carries it often and i sharpen it for him every now and again.. but its agreat knife, and it will hold up great. Cold steel really made a great user knife and would definitely recommend it. Though its not as fidget friendly as alot of these modern knives, but the slow roll action is very smooth
