We use to drive that route going to Spanaway Speedway. It's changed very little since 1990 but missing Walmart and Fred Meyers.

what is this camera system, and is the same system used from the early 1980s into the early 1990s? was it something that was bought, or was it created on-site from a video camera and portable VCR? i know much later Sony made video 8 and miniDV systems for police cars, but finding info on early vehicle video recording systems is impossible through the SEO spam. anybody know anything that can help me track down and/or replicate an early system? i have a lot of spare video equipment parts...

That was a trip to see. I moved to Everett in 89, worked at Video West on Broadway (use to be next to Henrys donuts) Lived on Broadway near the Hospital turn off. Thanks for showing this, so many things gone now. Brought back cool memory's.

I had a daily commute that required taking 90 west to 5 south via S. Dearborn and Rainier. I liked the aroma of the Rainier brewery, but it got to be so jammed up I would go over Beacon Hill instead.

Wow, barely missed the 40th anniversary of this film! We live in Port Townsend now and were visiting pretty regularly at that time but I'm surprised at how much has changed. I was hoping the old ferry dock was still in operation so as to see more of the downtown, but alas it was not to be.

I was just telling my wife same thing. I have to take my mom to cancer center every few weeks, and takes us 45 min to get from Albertsons to hospital with all the traffic now.

The Pizza Hut seen between 9:55-10:04 is now a Taco Bell. Also the area across from James Village is now where Lynnwood Crossroads is which has a MOD Pizza, Jersey Mikes, Qdoba, Five Guys, Joint Chiropractic, Great Clips & an LA Fitness in it.

I lived near the area where the beginning of this video takes place back in the early 80’s. I remember when they were working on the project and us kids would ride our bikes in the dirt when we could get away with it. Great memories from that time.

Looks to be fairly early in the morning from the shadows cast by the cars. Could easily count the high rise buildings in Seattle. Now it looks much different.
