@@EchoDotNetDotCom I’m familiar with the character’s voice design. I’ve seen this musical like 6 times and I’ve listened to the original broadway track over and over. The problem is Colleen’s voice. If you listen to any of her annoying “Miranda sings” videos, her parody voice is accidentally used here. It’s nastily and awful. I know dawn’s voice is supposed to be high pitched with a strong southern accent. That wasn’t the problem.

She literally only go the part because of her internet fame. Like she is a decent singer but she not even remotely as talent as she seem to be convinced she is. And the fact producer/casting instantly regretted the decision after opening night is hilarious. I mean how Colleen thought it be a good idea to turn a broadway show into her own personal meet and great with fan I never know Her fans flooded the show and treated it like a Miranda show. They were actively disruptive before during and after the show. After they flood the exit door waiting for her to come out and sign autographs cause the other actor to have to squeeze through a bunch of preteen nut cakes. Not sure she was surprised they didn’t want her back.

Broadways actors worked there whole live to get roles like that and all Colleen had to do is be able to hold a tune and boom the part is hers The producers and casting people actually regretted the decision to cast her after opening night when her fans flood the theatre. Apparently they were incredibly disruptive before, during, and after the show. When she was on stage they would scream her name or other stuff. When she wasn’t on stage they didn’t seem to even care about the actual show and would talk and make tiktok videos. Then they flooded the exiting door trying to get autographs making it so the other actor’s have to squeeze through a crowd of crazy preteens to get out.
