I am the keenest of 25m Air Rifle Benchrest shooters and I’ve won some national level Benchrest UK events.
I also qualified for the World Championships in 2023 but sadly I will be unable to attend. I shall work hard to make the next one.
I just want as many people to enjoy this fantastic sport as possible.

great content enjoyable watch ... love the card shoot you should do more ...
Great review, what was the shot count Matthew??
200+
ou are my Hero Sir... Amazing reviews and tests! Thank you so much...
When measuring 25 meters is it the breech or the end of the barrel . Sorry for newbie question 😊🤷🏻♂️ karl
Front of the table. :-)
@@airabilityuk cheers 🙏
Hello Matt, I am a blind shooter and I'm interested in 10 metre bench rest using bipod. I used to have a Steyr LG110 Match, but due to you know what, the club I was shooting at reduced the number who could be in the club at any one time, down to only four. So I stopped going and built a range in my back garden. The Steyr had to go as it was far too noisy, so I got a FX Dreamline VP Elite ST and use a Ronan single shot adaptor. When I was shooting at the club I competed in postal matches, since I had access to a range officer to sign the cards. Can't do that at home, but I would like to compete again if possible. World bench rest cater for 10 metre? Can't take into account wind when blind.
We start at 25m in length but we do indoor postal competitions www.benchrestuk.com
Thank you for the video, I have just returned to Shooting an Airgun (I was a young lad when I started), I gave the barrel a good clean from the manufacturer and I was getting this type of consistency and I was worried I had done something wrong or there was something wrong with my barrel. I had forgotten about leading the barrel and how many shots it took. thank you.
I purchased the scope but the weird thing is when you put the shade hood on the front of it you cannot adjust the scope you have to loosen the shade in order to adjust it.
Congrats on your win🎉
Do you think that this scope would be usable at 50 & 100 metres benchrest? I'm a little concerned that the centre dot may be too large at further distance than 25 metres.
It’s about the smallest you can get.
@@airabilityuk Thanks so much for the reply, very useful!
Thanks bud. I'm new to shooting cards so needed a video explaining how to score a card. I've got a stack of cards and a probe on the way so watch this space, lol. Thanks again bud.
Wise words
So what compressor did you buy?
Had a nomad for years essentially the same workings as the this one. I don’t have one at the min as I’m near a filling shop and I like the chat when I go.
@@airabilityuk thanks for the reply, and yes they are all largely very generic, all made in China then rebadged with various logos and affiliation’s. I myself own an airforce 1, which in turn is like a rebadged Veevor, but minus the external inverter. 👍
Great video, and it looks like a great product to me, but I am very new to shooting a target range. I'm enjoying the shooting and have been thinking about competitions shooting outside of where I go, would you recommend this, the air rifle I have is a ATA Airborne, keep up the great work.
These are great for uk sub12fpe air rifles. Last a lifetime.
Please use eBay shop below to buy products. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/156257830938?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=ohgeTEDASXu&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=VVh-GXO8T7q&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
The A4 will be fantastic for the back garden, print off your own targets, cheap as.
7kg bloody hell mate that’s a work out 🤣🤣🤣 i like it to be fair better than my box full of towels that’s for sure . been looking for a decent back stop 👍
They look brilliant, nice bit of kit !!
Brilliant Matt, thanks everso much for this, a great recommendation!
what's the front rest you using please sir ?
Seb mini but it’s customised base.
@@airabilityuk ooooffff, just seen the price. always great content and love the channel
Great video, we are not allowed backrests at my club?.
just got hold of a lightly used one for £150 , noisey but works fine
Where can you get one?

Excellent review! Thanks for sharing!! 👍
Nice touch on the end of the vid,fps...agree ...not most people put that in mate, well done, shoot straight, stay safe mate...look forward to some more reviews👍🏻
Hiya mate, names lee.....only just gound this video, posted three years ago.....how do you find the tdr now...any gripes on the performance or anything....cant decide between tdr R or the s510 tactical.....have a regulated ultimate sporter....dont know if to buy the tactical stock kit....lol,but I do like the look of the tdr👍🏻
I sold it in to fund other shooting projects. Both are essentially the same rifle just pick how you want it to look and pack away.
Very enjoyable guys.
Recently found your channel, it’s a great resource thank you. Reference the chronograph and a comment you made in an earlier video regarding your advice about a standard deviation of 10 being the maximum recommended limit for competition bench rest shooting. How many shots would you normally do, to generate your sample size. I’m currently evaluating the capability of my HW 100 which has the factory fitted spring washer “regulator”. I achieved a 10.2 standard deviation over 110 shots which is a full fill down to about 95 bar. If I was to only shoot over the most stable section of the string, it would significantly reduce my shot count, and my current skill level doesn’t warrant that. I should say I’m shooting paper at 30 yards on my local range. Cheers from John
As long as you don’t go below the reg pressure you total speed spread should be stable. I do long strings but do shorter ones just to check regularly.
This is probably a daft question but, does anyone use a springer for bench rest shooting?
The rifle as to stay in the rest so not seen any on world rules.
My 1st rifle was a springer. Webely. At 25 yards 1" targets OK, 35 and beyond hard due to "double tap". A friend let me try his PCP. Now 75 Yards sub-1" groups with no wind.
Fantastic explanation.
Thanks for the advice. Just bought the V2 from your recommendation. Much appreciated 👍
Excellent info! Thank you!!
Would you recommend doing the same on a new air rifle out of the box before putting any pellets through it?
Always.
😂 BRILLIANT !!!!
Great work and it's nice to see somebody who knows quality and a top of the line rifle show him people. You can start on a budget in arrival that you can work yourself. I'm disabled as well and I could never afford one of your high and rifle. It seemed these little rifle. Open my hopes for someday. Having a rifle did you can be competitive on a riddle a budget. Thank you for all your work. Looking forward to see what else you do have a great weekend
First run out for mine this weekend, everything will be crossed, just in case😵💫🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
Wasn't aware the FAS 611 was still available in UK? Great review, always enjoy your vids 👍
www.theratworks.co.uk/fas-611
Nice looking set up mate and it's great to see someone I respect as much as you cover entry level kit. Excellent vid.
Love this. Shooting and putting together sub-optimal rifles for BR is a rewarding journey. Shooting an adulterated hunting rifle means you must be very hot in the areas of technique, pellet management and learning to shoot in the wind (this is next for me). I love my underdog Goldie. Every good card i shoot i fully deserve. Every rubbish card is a learning opportunity. It's a great sport even if you don't use top flight kit.
Thanx for the video Matt, still liking my Fas611 very much.... cheers
How about 'Cheekyappa' to please everyone 🤣😂
Another great video would you recommend the the scope for 50 to 100m target shooting were lucky not to have the power restrictions here.
Easily 50m I can’t see why not 100m. I’ve used it at 50m and was well within its remit.
easy yes !!
Great video again Matt
Great review which rings would you recommend ??????????

More tips to remember! Cheers lads👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎😎
Just putting finishing thoughts to mine and then seen this. magnetic fixings now incorporated. Ty.
Great review, it gave me confidence in the accuracy. Thanks.
Was running mine for about an hour today tuning a rifle.
Great review and LOT cheaper than my usual NightForce scopes!
Well done on the wins!
Wind flags ?
Absolutely brilliant.
I use aa in my hw100 for my bench rest comp
