    Quite interesting that you came from a completely non-finance background, why did you decide on pursuing a career in finance? I’m currently studying a MS in Business Analytics at Boston University and im really interested in working in Fintech so im researching if CFA level 1 would make sense for me

    Cfa are for people who has a strong maths background in their college or university. You cant enrol cfa with weak mathematics umderstanding. If your maths only gred 11 ( age 17). Not for you. My maths is only gred 9. ( age 15). In china maths are compulsory to enter univ;( Entrance Exam. Not surprised you could do cfa, with humanities degree in China univ😅) in malaysia( where i live), you can avoid maths in your Pre U exam. ( Equivalent to china univ: entrance exam) . So with just level or grade 11 maths( age 17) in Msia , You are out , cfa is not possible. 😢

    Thank you for sharing your perspective! It's true that a strong math background can be very helpful for the CFA program. 📚 However, I've seen people from diverse educational backgrounds, including those with less advanced math skills, succeed in the CFA by dedicating extra time to mastering the necessary quantitative concepts. 💪 It's definitely challenging, but not impossible. Have you considered any resources or strategies that might help improve your math skills to pursue the CFA if it's something you're passionate about?

    Thank you so much for watching my video and for your kind words! If your city doesn't have a CFA exam center, one of the best options is to check nearby major cities or international locations that offer the exam. The CFA Institute's website has a comprehensive list of all available exam centers worldwide, which could be really helpful for you. Have you had a chance to look at the CFA Institute's official site yet? www.cfainstitute.org/en/programs/cfa/exam/test-center-locations

    How about only invest in Nasdaq 100 Composite ETF instead of S&P 500?

  • @CharleneCong
    @CharleneCong10 күн бұрын

    That's a great question! Investing in the Nasdaq 100 Composite ETF can be a good strategy, especially if you're looking for exposure to tech and growth companies. However, it can be more volatile compared to the S&P 500, which is more diversified across different sectors. What are your main investment goals?

  • @jackchou1425
    @jackchou142510 күн бұрын

    @@CharleneCong yes it’s more diversify and less volatile, but anyhow nasdaq 100 composite always come back like S&P 500, so I don’t understand why not Nasdaq composite 100.

  • @CharleneCong
    @CharleneCongКүн бұрын

    Great point! Both the Nasdaq 100 and the S&P 500 have shown resilience over time. The Nasdaq 100 is indeed less diversified, being more tech-heavy, which can lead to higher volatility compared to the S&P 500. However, its strong performance during tech booms can be very appealing. It's all about balancing risk and reward based on individual investment goals and risk tolerance. For example, if someone has shorter-term cash needs, like buying a house, they may prefer a less volatile index. What factors do you consider most important when choosing between these two indices for your portfolio?

    Amazing that I share similar experience in that I quit my job 5 years ago as a biologist in a UK University. Now I have educated myself and passed all three levels of the CFA program. It really changed my thinking of life, investing, and how being financial literate and being able to think independently and critically about what others say about investing, and to be able to avoid misguidance by some bad social media influencer is in my opinion extremely important. I am also currently studying for ESG and how together stakeholders including us can contribute and deal with the urgency of climate change and net zero transition. All of these make a purpose for me, surely you do as well, as seeking to be a good and impactful person, and have a fulfilling life.
