Great playing!!! You can't go wrong with either one to my ears!!! I love my 2018 Stingray 5 H Special!!! One of my favorite things about the StingRay is no matter how the EQ is set, it still sounds like a StingRay!!! The 3-band offers more tonal versatility though. This bass was a GAME CHANGER!!!

They have a sterling “ sterling “ now. A sterling version of the “sterling” that retails for $2300 Aud. How confusing is that.

@@Steve-mp7by the 76 sounds fuller and fatter than the later 77 ones cause the pickup has longer magnets and the preamp is better to my ears and many other people. Plus this is the original design, so yeah, it’s the holy grail 😊

Chris Squire and Mike Rutherford's Rickenbackers had killer tone. Same goes for Geddy's bass. And March Cesare from Eight Seconds.

I lucked into one in the early 90s. My beloved '73 SG was stolen after a gig in Nashville and I had a gig the next night in Memphis. The next day I drove to Memphis, went straight to a store called Strings and Things with gig money in hand, and bought the only bass I could afford - a used black Prodigy. I didn't even play it, just picked it up, went to the counter, and paid for it. The first time I heard it was at soundcheck and after a few minutes of noodling around with it, I thought, "I'll miss that SG for the rest of my life, but this bass has really has something going for it." It's been my main bass ever since.
