Don't believe all the BS about meteorites, super volcanoes, the 'Big One' earthquake, or tsunamis. You are not running from an improbable disaster, but rather going toward a better life away from the over-priced, over-crowded, over-regulated, and over polluted place that California has turned into. The smog has mostly cleared up in the 2000's, so many people driving Japanese cars. You can actually see the mountains and Catalina and San Clemente Island now. San Clemente used to be rare occurrence to see.
