  Thank you for this! Love your content and I am hoping you know how to solve for doing some sort of fixed rank. I always have an issue setting up a rank calculation that does not change when a name filter is applied. An example is rank(sum(profit)) works for a list of employees, and let's say Joe is ranked number 3, but when I filter for Joe's name, his rank is now 1 instead of 3. Any ideas how to solve? I always solve for it in the query but would be nice to have a Tableau fix too. Thank you!

  Thanks for the video. I created a toggle button like the one shown in the video. However, the toggle button must be double clicked in order to switch between values. It appears that when the button is clicked, it "selects" the button and triggers the Tableau action which properly switches the chart. However, the next click appears to "deselect" the button and does not trigger the action. Another click "selects" the button which triggers the action and the chart changes. It is hard to tell, but at the end of the video, it looks like the button in your example may have been double clicked to change the chart after the first click. Is this true? If so, is there a way to make it work so that a double click is not required? Tableau v2023.1.7

  I tried to execute this step by step. When I then try to alter the selections in a multi-select dropdown on my dashboard, it triggers a query as soon as I click on any checkbox in the list. I was expecting it to not do anything at all, until I click the Apply Filters button I created. Am I missing something?

  Even you can make this kind of dynamic column header by using this very complicated method. But if user export the data into Excel, these column headers won't go together with the data. In Excel, they will be lost what they are looking at because no column header.

  if you use the multiple data sources solution i guess this would make sense since a filter prolly is bound by its data set and doesnt work across data sets?

  Hi , I have a requirement to give Dimension Names as a filter : I have many Dimensions like A,B,C....... i am creating a Tabular view with all of these dimensions, and i have to give Dimension names as a Multiple values select filter so that we can select multiple Dimension names from filter.If i select A,B then my table should have only Dimensions A and B , if i select A,C table should have only A and C like this. Parameter workaround will not work for this requirement because i have to select multiple values. I found same question in Community but i didn't find answer. Any Ideas ?

  When I publish the dashboard to tableau server. The dashboard still starts loading after change in each filter. Loading still does not change any data. How do I overcome this issue.

  Amazing explanation, overall great video! :) I just have one small issue, I have followed each and every step as is, when I do the selection I am getting values for the last filter I selected. Say if I just select region then I am getting just the region on all the KPI cards, but I have a country KPI, a region KPI and a store KPI, each should show unique value on each selection, but it is showing just last filter value on on each KPI card.
