    Hi, you replaced fork just with the heavier rated yss spring? Noticeable improvement in the front end? I am thinking doing same.

  • @RickGreen_McNutt
    @RickGreen_McNutt3 ай бұрын

    It was actually a K-Tech spring, but yes only a heavier rated spring. It made an improvement. The damping in the forks isn't bad, so I was able to just put in a stiffer spring. The shock is another story, just putting a higher rater spring wouldn't have helped as the damping (rebound in particular) was really lacking. In this video, I was bottoming out the forks on occasion on these cross ditches kzread.info/dash/bejne/aXecx6WPici9pqw.html&ab_channel=RickGreen. Putting the heavier spring in really helped. The Rally Raid suspension (front and rear) would be the next step up - just not sure I 'need' it with my riding.

  • @mymotosai5036
    @mymotosai50363 ай бұрын

    @RickGreen_McNutt thanks for the feedback. I think I will just put a heavier spring in the front and give it a go. As for the rear shock, like was you said I have also read that just putting a heavier spring doesn't really fix the shock as the shock doesn't have the valving to handle the heavier duty spring. So the shock blows through the stroke and pogos. Great scenery in your vid! I'm in Thailand now but rode enduro many years in Alberta and some in BC.

    Lots of practice. The bike makes it easier as well. I rode a KLX250S up there for a few years - it's 300lbs, so more than your CRF250F, but they'd be similar in a lot of ways otherwise - definitely harder on that bike. After I've been riding for a few hours, the grace completely leaves me and it becomes comical.

    How you liking the new bike? Sounds good!

  • @RickGreen_McNutt
    @RickGreen_McNutt8 ай бұрын

    Really liking it. The stock gearing is a little taller (final drive on the transmission is shorter, but they went from 13-51 to 14-49 for sprockets) - I considered changing it, but am getting used to it - just means a clutch pop instead of just throttle to get over some obstacles, which is good technique to learn anyway.

    I have to say I think the commentators could be more in touch with the sport they're announcing. Once guy knew almost nothing and the other guy rode and knew some stuff. Somebody suggested the guy who didn't know anything was on purpose, so he'd ask questions that many people in the crowd who don't follow the sport would ask.
