    Don't forget to use the bones and scraps for stock. Break the thigh and drumstick bone before putting them in the stock pot to release the lovely marrow.

    I've got 10 lbs to debone, & am so glad I chose your video. I grew up on a farm & remember killing chickens in the fall with my siblings (we were young teens), then dunking them in boiling water to defeather them before singeing to remove the pinfeathers. We would process about 30-40 each year. This is perfect for my Korean Chicken recipe.

    Very good video, but sadly after trying this on two legs I couldn’t remove the drumstick bone like you did, when I pop it the thigh bone pops out of its socket, not the drumstick bone, the drumstick bone stays stuck to the joint, I have to remove the thigh bone to reach the joint then separate the joint from the drumstick bone from inside to be able to pull the drumstick bone out. Maybe there is something different about my chickens or I am doing something wrong… like the drumstick bone is completely stuck to the joint, I tried applying force but I ended up shattering the drumstick bone 😅

    @@manitobachicken I think I know why, the chicken farms here raise chickens in cages.. its very cruel and it seems when the chicken doesnt have enough space to move her legs the joint gets completely stuck to the bone. Our home grown roosters had nothing like this.

  • @disguisedcat1750
    @disguisedcat1750 Жыл бұрын

    It surgically doesnt make sense, my chickens cant stand up if their joint is like this… this is terrible… i hope awareness is raised about animal cruelty here soon and people stop this madness.

    Thank You for taking the time to make this video. I have been buying chicken in quantity leg quarters and freezing them to save money but, this time I decided I wanted some boneless thighs and regular drumsticks out of some of the chicken. Of all things, I am the daughter of a professional meat cutter(aka local butcher)😆my dad would say WHAT? You have forgotten how to cut up a chicken?? Well,..if you don’t use it…you lose it. 😆 Your instructions were clear and precise and my leg quarters came right apart!!! 👍🏻
