    I tried the endurance version of this saddle as well as a couple of others and I have to say, this is the worst fitting saddle I've ever used. And by that I mean that it doesn't fit me at all, no matter what size or material. It's good to see other people enjoying it, but damn, it was torture to me.

    🤣🤣, that’s the funny thing about saddles and the unfortunate part is you actually have to try them in-order to *know. I gave the endurance a go as well. It was WAY TOO squishy for Me. Sorry it didn’t workout for you. *Currently, what saddle are you riding or what were you using before? #RobbArmstrong

    @@robbarmstrong8702 Interesting to hear that you're off of the Selle Italia given that your dad liked it so much and your initial first impression! Mind if I ask what you didn't like about it? I'm on the 145mm Verse and do find the back of my right leg catching the widest part of the saddle occasionally, probably could go down to the 130mm too. I also prefer a flatter shape and just tried the Ergon Allroad pro for a couple weeks. Loved the flatter shape of this one but it was way too wide wide even in their smallest size unfortunately. The wings don't flare downwards much at all.

    What year Allez sprint are you riding? I'm coming off of a 2020 S-Works Venge and onto a 2019 Allez Sprint disc as a backup bike for racing and training and the Allez is a noticably more harsh ride. For reference, I'm using the same Roval CLX II wheels, with 32mm Tubeless Conti GP5000's on both bikes, same saddle, same drivetrain. Only difference is the frame. The Venge is a much smoother ride and absorbs road noise and vibration an order of magnitude better than the Allez does. I'm wondering if the latest verision of the Allez was made significantly more compliant or something because the 2019 model is good for crits or training rides under 2 hours but anything longer than that is just punishing.

  • @robbarmstrong8702

    Oh wow! Thats says a lot! Appreciate the context of your post. What PSI are you running? I believe you have the *older frame. I haven’t ridden that one. I have a 2023 frame, which shares the same geometry as the SL7. Because of the Geometry and shared features of the SL7, that’s what sparked up an interest to purchase one. For the generation, which my Dad and I both own I’ve never heard anyone say anything bad about the Allez. *SideNote: What color is your Venge? If I ever find one for a *decent price I’d consider it. It’s a great looking Bike! I’d even take a Venge Vias. It’d have to be disc of course. I heard the rim-Vias was trash 🚮 #RobbArmstrong

    I own an Tarmac SL7 and a Factor Ostro VAM. The SL7 rides noticably firmer while the SL8 is more supple like the Factor. The SL7 has lots of "character," but when you ride more compliant top tier bikes, it comes off as a bit less refined, crude even. One thing that Factor does better than both is feel more substantial in the BB area. Specialize choose to continue with a narrow BB with a BSA bracket compared to a more robust layout using a T47. This is obviously a weight saving measure.

  • @robbarmstrong8702
    @robbarmstrong87023 күн бұрын

    Very interesting points. I can easily see the weight-loss with the BSA BB’s. I personally like the T47 BB. Very easy to work with and provides a bunch of crank options. The real question is, 👀 for your experience, what would be the one bike to “rule them all”, the Tarmac or the V•A•M? #RobbArmstrong

  • @455LT1
    @455LT13 күн бұрын

    @@robbarmstrong8702 Funny enough, I got the SL7 after the VAM (I got the SL7 Comp new for under $4k) as a second frame. A few years back, the SL7 would definitely be tough to beat. I'm on the new generation Ostro VAM as my first was wrecked. I've only had it out once but I swear it's even faster than the first gen. The comparison with the SL7 is a bit Apples to Oranges since I do not have an S Works SL7 which might be a bit more compliant. The Ostro would be "the one" because of value, performance and customization. You can pick you stem/bar width, seat post, crank length, etc. The big brands don't do this causing you to spend even more to customize your fit. The Ostro rides like a dream and is unique (although Factor sponsoring Legion may change that). It's the winner for me. As for the SL8, aesthetically, the Ostro VAM 2.0 looks much better. I will say the SL8 rides like a dream but that isn't surprising given the redesigned frame. I just can't get passed the looks of the speed sniffer. Factor's implementation of the nose protrusion is much more elegant.

  • @LOGICAL-JAY
    @LOGICAL-JAY3 күн бұрын

    I totally agree on the SL7 s-works tarmac's ride...i regret getting rid of it..ill probably build up another one soon...my trek madone SLR gen7 has a T47 BB and you can definitely put down the power w confidence
