What company you use for cement & what was the cost
@HuffHaus7 күн бұрын
It was about $3500 for the kennels and a 9x9 slab patio I had them do at the same time. I used a concrete finishing company called Zarro's, they are in Central Florida.

I really enjoyed this video!!!! I especially liked how you put the plants at the back of the kennels for shade something I never thought to do plus I bet it makes the yard look good as well. I think you did a awesome job. QUESTION, Will the dogs harm the chickens if they are out of the kennels ?
@HuffHaus9 күн бұрын
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! That remains to be seen. I would like to keep my chickens free ranging if possible but I am considering building them an enclosure of some kind. All of my dogs, with the exception of the adult stud that I imported, have been trained to leave them alone, and they listen pretty well most of the time. That being said, I do have to watch them closely, and I am often taking them on walks rather than just letting them loose in the yard. Thanks for the question!!

Thank you for sharing your design! Looks great! I'd be pretty proud to get all that work done in one day...in the heat! It seems that your floor is sloped for drainage, as well, so that increases the angle of the roof in the same needed direction also, is that right? My question is: will this design make the kennel climb-proof. My own Rottie is already trained and would never, but I'm thinking if I have a Board &train dog such as a Mal or other athletic fence-scaler, could they get out through the top? Thinking of how to put 1"x1" hardware cloth to make it Houdini-Dog proof. Thanks!

That's a good point! You could also use full 2x4's on the front instead of the smaller pieces to get the elevation you need, then there wouldn't be any gaps at all. Running a trim board along the sides would fill the gaps on the sides too. Will cost a little more for lumber, obviously, but that should take care of it. Luckily, I don't have to worry about that too much with my dogs.

And remember, it's only like 3" of space. Most big dogs aren't going to make it through there.

What size are the kennels if you don’t mind and your concrete?
@HuffHausАй бұрын
I used 4 5x10 TSC Retriever kennels and also purchased 2 additional door panels. This allowed me to make use of the additional panels that are not needed between the kennels to make them into 6 total kennels. The concrete is 10'6" x 31'6". Thanks for the comment 🙂

Where did you find the sun shade material?
