Saw them in Perth Australia in about 2011. Have no idea why they decided to play there but they did.

This is genuinely exceptional. It is a very fitting memorial to Syl. I can’t imagine the bittersweet feeling David has when he hears this record because it is bringing tears to my eyes; and I never even met Syl. A truly fine swan song ❤

I was born in Manhattan but I wasn't ready for this! First saw Dolls on the Upper East Side. Yeah, LOUD! Much later, after crossing the country a couple times, I hung out and crashed with Syl at his crazy one-room apt. on MacDougal St. (large and messy with huge and messy round bed, kitchenette and giant window). Drove those smart and funny dudes with equip. to some gigs in my '54 GMC stepvan - a curvaceous design with a face-like front and flashing arrow indicators. Fun fun fun. Sylvain was a great guitarist - I oughta know - I saw him heading up a Soca band at the RoundHouse in London. Tony Machine married me big sister and they lived off Union Square. Kathy loved to play Chopin. Stuff like that - the Big Apple used to be... NNNice.West VillageWest Village

This came out when I was only 4 years old. My old best friend’s cousin who was older would give my friend cds. This was one of those cds she got and we listened to and this song was on repeat as we got ready when I was 16. Now 33.

@@dukedecter hi, sorry for the late reply, i had written a comment previously but it didnt seem to go through for some reason, anyway long story short about 6 or 7 months ago i found the ex-idols through another band called the szuters where they covered I die tomorrow on their 1997 show, and i went to listen to the original and it instantly became one of my favourite songs. I then brought the social kill album and its now one of my all time favourite albums. I did more digging online and found more music by the ex-idols as well as some of garys other bands when looking on the internet archive at the old ex-idols website, this is where i found out about tuscaurora and unfortunately the links to the songs on the ex-idols website on the internet archive no longer work for tuscaurora, so i went onto youtube to find their songs, which most of them are on here except for the two songs i mentioned in my previous comment. Hope this was interesting to read! Thanks! And have a nice day!!

I played with Gary at the Troubadour in LA, with a band called 'Cleveland' years ago....with Mat Baker from Agnes Gouch on vocals. Gary played the guitar, and did some back-ups I think. That was one of the best shows I had ever been a part of! He was amazing....I couldn't believe it. I was crushed when I found out the news of his suicide. Thank you Gary....that was the best show of my life, and the reason I moved back to Sacramento....Too much to say.... I wish I could have gotten to know u better my friend. Rock on

Gary was so positive and full of energy during the shooting of this video. I was shocked when I heard he killed himself. As an aside, the color portions of this video were lit and photographed in lush, vivid colors that looked great when contrasted with the raw black & white portions. Jodi then altered the color footage during the film-to-video transfer. When Jodi told what she'd done, her nervous laughter told me she knew she made a mistake, but by that time it was too late. Lastly, this and the few other versions of this video I've seen on KZread are all dubs of dubs. If I had a better quality transfer, I would upload it. But it's a great song! Enjoy!

The New York Dolls are one of the greatest bands in the world...period...so so underrated...Aerosmith would not not be Aerosmith without the Dolls...and every single hair band of the 80's...even Bowie knocked off the Dolls..every one knocked off the New York Dolls...David Johansen and Johnny Thunders really set the stage for rock and roll...plus the Saint Valentines Massacre video in 1972 in the New York City meat packing district set another stage for video way beyond MTV. The NYC meat packing district in 1972 was an absolute " Den of Thieves"..quite the den of inequity...because it was so raw..the video was so good
