Sir, I think you did a fine job explaining the song and how to play effectively. I concur with what you said on speed and tempo. Good job. What guitar are you playing? Thanks

Oh my gosh thank you so much! I'm SMI and because of that I'm a bit slower learning on certain things. I took choir way back in high school and they have all these little notes but of course obviously there are quite a few differences from choir lessons to guitar lessons. You make this seem easier than choir lol but maybe I didn't have a good teacher. She would always yell at us and I'm like I'm doing the best I can, you aren't getting a soprano out of me like that... She got a soprano out of me just like that. But I still feel like it could have been easier if we went back to basic learning like something like this. The whole way you explain it like 1, 2,3,4 then strum while saying it and getting us to say it really helped my slow brain. A lot of my older friends play and my little brother does to and he's really good! Ugh proudest older sister in the world! Anyways after seeing them play and their souls just meld with their playing ugh it looked so peaceful and fun! My friend even played me his own song recently and though I'm not into that kind of type of music I can fully admit if it was like his lyrics I actually could. I wanted to play because of them and I want to play with all of them some day and make my own song someday. I can pick up some really nice songs when I hum randomly so I know I'm going to make a lovely song together with my instrument someday. Look at me bragging, I meant that as in it's my own melody, my own harmony and my own synchronicities. Anyone's music is obviously lovely because they put so much work into it I see it and even if it's not always my cup of Joe everyone is beautiful especially since your own songs come from the heart. I was raised up on a lot of that "Follow your heart" stuff so sorry if I get a bit sappy. Also Fourth!

What I'm looking for is what if a song is Bm w/o capo. Hotel Cali got put in Am for this. So, you add a tone to everything (two half steps, or notes) and tell the pianist to play Bm, then?

Don't think you intended to "lie" either but you are very mistaken about the application of the NNS. If someone calls out 2, 3, or 6 in a live setting in Nashville it will be played major. Same for written charts...a number by itself is ALWAYS major and only becomes minor when a suffix is added such as 2- or 2m. To be fair, you are describing a valid music theory system but I know of not a single player in or around Nashville who doesn't read a number by itself as major. Don't take my word for it. Research anything by Chas Williams or David Isaacs or keep an eye out for upcoming lessons from Nick Bruno. I'm not telling you this to be mean but to try to help correct a commonly held misconception.
