  The n35s were so much better to drive. The new sodi karts are too slow for the track. My only braking points were for turn 8 and 10

  Agreed. The new Sodi karts are far too slow. Best laps in the 24hr were in the 14s, whilst most karts never got into the 16s. Previous (not Dmax) karts were below 1:10. Whats the cause? Weight? The closing speed of the Dmax's was very high in the 24hr - not quite dangerous but quick enough to cause some incidents if the timing was wrong. Finding a way to get the new sodi's 2 or 3 seconds faster would be very worthwhile but not sure how practical that is. They also need to make sure all the karts are capable of comparable laptimes. Its quite clear from the 24hr that a handful of the fleet are way quicker (engine related!)

  @@LessThanSte they’ve changed the tyre compound since the 24 aswell to try reduce the bouncing and now they are even slower. They won’t change them though as they are not aimed towards us. Aslong as the open sessions keep filling up they will be happy. They really needed to be the 390 engines instead and then at least they would have some grunt to them.

  My son races there and was in the N35 championship. We then pitched up for a race after a break and they had introduced these Sodi karts. They are so slow that my lad refused to finish the race as he was bored in it. It's a shame as they just aren't fast enough for the track. The jump up to Dmax is now so big which is a shame for anyone wanting to step up.

  What was it about the Tamburello? I remember Piquet in '88 having almost the identical incident in the Williams - and in effect it ended his career, as he was never the same driver afterwards.
