    This also works in summer, but it only runs the fan at medium speed to circulate outside air through the car so it doesn't get stifling inside...

    Great video. I need to recharge my system and bypass the pressure switch because of low refrigerant level and force the compressor to come on. Does anyone know where the AC relay is on a 2001 CLK 430? Thanks

    You are not completely testing for leaks in the pressure switch itself though, which is usually the main culprit and cause of failure in these switches. Another video immersed it in water and did the same thing as you and it showed air bubbles escaping from the connector body, which would mean that it is faulty.

    I'm about to change my main lift cylinders because they are leaking. The job calls for the roll bar to be raised to access the work areas. Does the pressure need to be relieved before this?

    I’m glad that you made this video. I’m going to have to try it tomorrow. But to explain the weird situation that’s going on with my truck. I bought it from a guy claimed that it had a brand new transmission new synchros and a new clutching it. It’s always giving me problems but now if you’re gonna have to back up after you start the vehicle. You better put it in reverse before you start it same thing with first gear. The entire line has an extremely violent jolt. Also, in order to shift gears you’re pretty much pushing so hard on the clutch pedal as if you’re trying to push it through the wall the only way I can actually get it to really shift is to float it into gear without the clutch. If you use the clutch you’re using all the strength you have to force that thing into another gear. But 90% of the time if I drive it unless I’m going into first or reverse, I don’t use the clutch at all. I downshift and upshift the clutch. I just have to rev match at 2800 RPMs

  • @fupabox
    @fupabox11 күн бұрын

    Sounds like the clutch itself was installed improperly or is adjusted improperly . It isn’t fully disconnecting when pressed . If it’s a hydraulic clutch it could need bleeding to get air out of the lines . If it’s cable operated it should have an adjustment on the cable to tighten up the pedal . Most clutches start to disengage after pressing the pedal about two inches . I would check adjustment or bleeding first .

    My EC button light is permanently on/pressing it won't turn it off. My blower fan runs on its own, but not always. It continues with the ignition off. A previous owner fitted an isolating switch to the blower supply to turn it off. Everything else appears to work, well, apart from the A/C. The compressor clutch won't engage, I presume there's a leak. Are these issues connected? 2001 A208

    I did these exact steps and then after I take the key out of the ignition and try to start it, nothing. The battery goes dead and no lights or anything. Then I unhook the battery and repeat previous steps and same result. Thoughts?

    Hey Fupa, Thanks for another great video! How are you liking the Lexus? I am considering a trade of my W211 E350 for a newer Lex ES350. Have you found the Lex to be less finicky on CAN issues or modules than the Benz's - if applicable? any sage pro's or con's for either?

  • @fupabox

    Es 350 is a rebodied Camry . One of the most reliable cars ever . Original parts seem to last well over 200k km . Haven’t been happy with the newer Benz’s. too finicky and engine bays are impossible to work in now .

    At 9:08 you remove the remnants of the lower spring seat, and never installed a new one. Its part # 204-324-01-84. Not good, that spring is just chafing on the control arm directly now. The divot you were looking for when re-installing the spring is what that seat piece is for. Its also extremely risky to jack the spring up into the car that way, if the arm slips off the jack that spring is going for a ride! Also the triple square bolt and nut you removed to do this job are spec'd as one time use by MB.
