Hi! I'm Melinda. The main focus of my channel is decluttering, but my goal is not to become a minimalist. I simply want my home to be manageable FOR ME to take care of, so I call myself a "Manageable-ist."

Hope all is well with you. We had a severe storm , many are still without power. the roof suffered significantly, ins adjuster will be out tomorrow.

Melinda, it was fun to see your cross-stitch stash. I used to do cross a stitch about 30 years ago. I really loved it, but seasons of life change and I just lost interest. Some family and friends still have pieces I did and it's good to see them again. I really like your Christmas angel. Cheers.

Packed up for donation,in car, more tees, jeans, jacket that was too big , since trash night. My son added a bin full of clothing that no longer fit. Perhaps I might be well enough to drop off tomorrow

still in recovery stage here! Was able to hang out some laundry, since a good hot drying day. left overs from the weekend will last us a few days. In the nineties here, with a big fire of 500+ acres and growing. I. Have items to drop off but cannot drive yet.

Hey Melinda! It’s great to see you again! Yesterday, on a whim, I cleared off and dusted the top of my tall dresser that was well over due. I kept a lot of items off of it and now it looks much better. Today, I went to Michael’s to get a 16x20 inch frame for a picture I had on an easel on the dresser and now I can hang it on the wall. The new frame is perfect! ❤😊

Great declutter of your books! I also enjoyed going through what books you have read. I used to read so much when I was younger. I wish I can get back into it again. Life has got me wrapped up with time. 😀

This is a nice surprise video and would have been a perfect addition to the collab that Organized With Joy hosts! My partner made a dump run today and got rid of whatever mess he has going on in his garage plus a bunch of unwanted paint and toxic cleaners. Now that my daughter and her bunny are living here, I won't be using anything like oven cleaner, floor cleaner, and bleach that could be harmful to him and all of us, really.

@@jennyjenkins877 😂 I love it! Back in 2006, one of our cats had kittens. The neighbor kid wanted one. She picked out names: Bella or Mitch. When I figured out her parents weren't going to let her have the kitten and I would be keeping it, I convinced her Bella would work for a boy or a girl. (I didn't want to name it Mitch if I was keeping it.) I was glad she agreed because the kitten turned out to be a boy. Bella was a sweet kitty.

well just today i threw out a purse. i was a little upset, my cousin gave it to me for christmas. and last week, i was cleaning it out. and the lining in the bottom came apart. its nylon, so i had no intention of trying to repair. so i found 1 on line. just got it today. & yesterday i took a book down to our little library on next corner. it was about victorian life. but found it not interesting. My church is having a huge rummage sale in three weeks so I've been going through things as I think about it and dropping it off as I get a bag or box. So far I've resisted bringing anything home except some puzzles, which I returned as soon as I completed them.

And maybe I'd try making my own patterns. There's a lady in my Buy Nothing group who makes her own designs. They're beautiful. It took me a long time to be okay with letting it all go...the fabric, the floss, the patterns...the idea of doing it again someday. But it's time. No sense in it going to waste when someone else could put it to use. I didn't realize until I had already posted this video, but I haven't even cross stitched in this century. It doesn't seem that long. Lol

I don't want to start honey-doing him yet, though. 🫣😜I figure he deserves a little "vacation" time first. I remember how it was when I first quit working. 💞

@@dianasimplifies Yeah, it is supposed to dissipate...IN 40 DAYS! 😂😂😂 I didn't realize it was wet and wasn't thinking about it when I put it in my purse. 🤦 By the time I realized, it was too late. Everything smelled like cologne. Strong, stinky cologne. Lol. I had to air out the things I couldn't toss. Money. Insurance cards. Everything. I didn't want to put that stuff into my replacement purse. 😂😂😂 The little change purse still smells or I would still use it. It's gotta go. Luckily, the purse was already showing wear. I checked, the smell is finally gone from the purse. It was in plastic in an envelope. I put it back in the envelope, but not in the plastic. If I'd put it back in the plastic, it wouldn't have caused a problem. 😂😂😂

The santas really caught my eye... must be the metallic thread! When my daughter was young, I collected so much junk for her to make crafts. Now that she's a registered early childhood educator, she does the same thing and has gathered all kinds of bits and bobs for the kids at daycare.

I had to stop over 25 years ago because I got cross eyed and couldn't see print on a page for awhile. 🤦 Now, with bifocals and a prism, plus the neck issues and the hands too, fantasy self had to let go of the possibility of ever doing it again. I'm glad I have my little collection to enjoy though. 😊

I love so many of them, especially the Americana. When I seen the Opryland, USA bag, I felt like it was mine! 😮 I must of had one myself! I would have been 15 yrs old when I traveled to Tennessee, back in 1978.
Hey, sweet friend! 🤗💕 Thank you! I was in my twenties when I learned. I had never heard of cross stitch, but my sister gave me a simple little kit as part of my Christmas present one year. It was a goose and had a blue plastic frame. I wanted to do more, so I asked her where she got it. Then I discovered the world of cross stitch. It felt natural to me. That's so cool! We went to Opryland twice. The first time was 1988. Randy surprised me for our 12th anniversary. He knew I'd always wanted to go there. I don't remember which trip we were on when we bought the tote, but we never used it. 🤦

@@carrie3206 That's when I first learned to sew too. Home Ec. Middle school. 7th grade. But I remember my grandma teaching my sister and I how to use a needle and thread before I started school. I didn't quite understand how stitches worked though because I tried to make clothes for my doll while my sister was at school. Huge fail! Maybe it was the one inch stitches. 🤔😂😂😂
