Judging by the diesel exhaust smoke belching out, no DPF filters seem to be fitted and how polluting are these locomotives? 🤔
@PhilThomasTrainsАй бұрын
You make an interesting point. All I can tell you is that as of now, they are compliant in the UK in terms of exhaust emissions. However its likely to change.

The class 155 caught at 4:00 is actually a pretty rare shot. They only worked in North Wales in 1988/89 and few photos would have been recorded as they were ''new'' and ''probably be around for decades''. Not so!

Waxing nostalgic here at about 45 to 47 minutes, a coal train from now defunct Kansas City Power & Light, my ex employer, and a great one at that. Those cars were jointly owned with Kansas Gas & Electric. They were headed back out to the Powder River basin to load up with coal for use at the joint KCPL/KGE coal fired generating station at La Cygne, Kansas. Nice scenery in that part of Nebraska.

Just espied this vid! Oh, those were the days. We were on the last run and it was a carnival atmosphere. Reckon they got every detonator out of the units and depot stores and disposed of them on the line between Manchester and Bury! Talk about going out with a bang! Everyone emerged from the train at Bolton Street wreathed in gun powder smoke! Still got the ticket somewhere. Next day a couple of units were seen trundling up and down the ELR towed by a diesel.
