    So first off unfortunately tribal is no longer a card type they changed it to kindred but they are literally the same thing so it doesn't matter that much. I feel like the grocery store, the toll gate, and the black brie should all be artifacts because they're all man made objects especially with the black brie because of the food type. Although I see your reasoning because they're effects are very enchantment like. Pretty sick to see you take on the cards in this skit I was super excited when I saw your community post I hope this makes its way to Prozd

    I have been inspired. Mostly by the comments about this being a weird idea, but still: inspired.     @@lovroxyz3119 Twisting nether has been updated recently to "Destroy all minions and locations." as they changed many cards effects to make them more competitively viable. Second banishing trap hole only targets minions with 3 attack or less, less generically usable but still very powerful.

    @@lovroxyz3119 and I'm talking about Banishing trap hole that targets cards with 1500 or less attack, the one I did talk about since you were asking how is this a nerf, as Bottomless trap hole would be too strong. The reason why I didn't add bottomless trap hole was because I knew it would be the same as objection. At least with banishing trap hole it targets only small minions rather then all minions.

    Everything I know about yugioh I learned from KZread videos crossing it over with other games, usually Magic, but I am still compelled to try and make my own versions of these cards. I agree with another commenter that the command zone in Magic is the closest thing to the extra deck in yugioh, so they should definitely be extra deck monsters, and since they're a cycle they should either each be a different type or all be the same type. There are five extra deck types, but one of them is pendulum(I think pendulums are extra deck)and there is no way I am doing a pendulum. Of the others, xyz and link have weirdness that doesn't make sense here. Between fusion and synchro, synchro lets me emulate the command tax so I'm going with that. Let's start with what they have in common. I'll leave them at Eliot's level 8, although 7 feels numerically tidier to me. Their materials are one primary-attribute tuner and one or more non-tuners of each secondary attribute. Their upkeep cost is to banish one monster of each of their attributes from your graveyard, and I'll use this technique for other coloured mana costs as well. I'll keep Eliot's commander damage text and stats of 2800/2800, but rather than try to translate flying, an ability that has always been integral to Magic, into a game without such a second front, I'll just have them halve their battle damage *whenever* they attack directly. When they leave the field, return them to the extra deck rather than putting them anywhere else, and permanently increase their level by 2.(If the extra deck is a hidden zone, add a one-per-deck clause) Arcades Sabbath appears Light attribute at a glance(primary), and his text says that he is also Earth and Wind.(yes, I changed one. there's a reason for that) All defense position monsters you control gain 800 defense. Banish a Light monster from your graveyard:(quick effect) Arcades gains 400 defense until end of turn. Chromium is Water primary, Wind and Dark secondary. When Chromium declares an attack he gains 800 attack and defense until end of turn for each defense position monster your opponent controls beyond the first. Palladia-Mors is Earth primary, Fire and Light secondary, and, very simply, inflicts piercing battle damage, as they say in yugioh. Nicol Bolas is Dark primary, Water and Fire secondary, and, since I removed the evasion, DOES discard the opponent's entire hand. He's Bolas. He deserves it. Vaevictus Asmadi is Fire primary, Dark and Earth secondary. Banish a Fire, Dark, or Earth monster from your graveyard:(quick effect) Vaevictus gains 400 attack until end of turn. And last but not least, the big reveal... Ugin is Wind primary, Light and Water secondary. Banish 2 Wind, Light, and/or Water monsters from your graveyard:(quick effect) Summon a level 1 500/500 Light Fairy token in defense position. And here is the hypothetical Magic Card I was working from Ugin 2WWPPUU(the P stands for purple(phyrexian mana, in this continuity, would be letter-coded as H). Arcades' blue pips, and Chromium's white pips, are replaced with purple) 1WPU: Put a spirit token into play. Treat this token as a 1/1 flying white creature. Pay WPU during your upkeep or Ugin is buried. If I was going to make an actual Elder Dragon Legend version of Ugin it would be sparker Ugin, it would be white-red-blue, and it would have the power level of a contemporary Magic card. This one is "from Legends" and pretends that purple is a thing. I put him between Arcades and Chromium so that he would have two of his real colors.

    Ugin's token is a Spirit because it's Ugin, and white because colourless felt wrong for a coloured Ugin. It's a Fairy because I'm pretty sure this isn't the type of spirit that's a ghost, and defense position because in Magic it will probably just chump block, being a 1/1.

    I'm confused about what you were talking about during the Dark Hole Dragon section because in the example you gave it's a card adding a specifically named card to your hand just like the original Dark Hole Dragon but you made it seem like they were two different things. And as just a minor rules clarification the only extra deck summon face down monster can be used for is fusion summoning except for in a few cases.

    ​@Eliot_Draws You specified that the Hearthstone version added a Dark Hole to your hand rather than from the deck because, "It's more common to add cards to your hand than draw a specifically named card from your deck." I was just confused because you made it seem like the YuGiOh effect and Hearthstone effects were different even though they both add Dark Hole to your hand from the deck.

    @@ThisisThatman Dark hole isn't drawn though, as adding cards in hearthstone is when the game generates a card where if the card is drawn it is taken from the deck. You can add cards that don't exist in your deck but you can't draw cards that don't exist in your deck. The reason why I specified why it added Dark Hole was because there are many instances where you could generate main deck cards instead of drawing a very specific card like with sleetbreaker ADDING a main deck card like Windchill, i.e you don't draw the windchill from your deck it just appears from thin air when sleetbreaker is played since it was ADDED not DRAWN. This is because generating cards is more versatile and less bricky than drawing them.

    ​@Eliot_Draws That's my bad I didn't realize Hearthstone could have you generate cards from nothing although it makes sense because digital only card games tend to do that. So would that make Dark Hole Dragon a theoretically immortal minion that generates infinite board wipes.

    As someone who loves graveyard deck, the Inferniry Demon is a little too loosely worded. It needs to be "a black Demon or horror card not named Inferniry Demon" otherwise in response to its ability I can sacrifice it to Ashnod's/Phyrexian Altar for mana, return it to the battlefield and repeat. Been loving the series though, keep it up!

    Tokens can't be used for Xyz Summoning, as they can only exist on the field, and being attached as material does not count as being on the field.

    I'm not really sure if that's possible since half of their effects are column based as chaos orb should be good indicator why cards that depend on board placement are impractical to implement.

    I would make it a 1 blue 1 generic cost 1/1 with boast - 2 blue 3 generic Skip your opponents next draw step. Return "Yata-Gurrasu" to it's owners hand. And Flying, since it's a bird. either this or making the return to hand effect mandatory with haste since it will only last until the end of your turn and increasing it's mana cost to 2 blue, 1 red, and 2 generic - boast - 1 blue 1 generic Skip your opponents next draw step.

    While I think making the synchro monster a transform card is a cool way to do it, I've always thought of them as creatures with emerge, but there are definitely ups and downs to both options. I'd also say my my opinion on normal summon exclusive effects should probably say "when cardname enters the battlefield, if you cast it,..." just so it would be more in line with the original effect. This has definitely helped me out with making my one custom cards based on yugioh cards.

    About Magic Drain, it'd be better if you said the opponent had to discard a non-creature spell instead of just any spell. That way it would make it more similar to the original card.

    7:36 See, you completely neglected to mention that not only do draw spells in Uno force the other player(s) to draw cards, they also skip their turn as well. Pretty sure forcing them to draw 2 is a perfectly fine tradeoff for skipping their turn.

    I agree with other comments that there are a lot of individual design issues, but I think before all that, this video started with a fundamentally flawed concept of "deck masters = planeswalker commanders". There are several key differences, and not just "technically this works like...", but factors that lead into various unforced errors in design which even someone who didn't understand Magic as a game probably wouldn't have made (e.g., Strike Ninja no longer doing its one job of dodging removal, Dark Magician not counting as a Wizard for Dark Magician Girl). Deck masters are all monsters in Yugioh, but monsters neither translate cleanly to creatures or planeswalkers in Magic. Creatures are less fragile than monsters, because they cannot be targeted individually by attacks, while planeswalkers can be attacked but generally cannot engage in combat themselves. Additionally, all deck masters start off the field and can still apply their effects, and can only summon themselves once because you lose the game if they are destroyed, unlike commanders which mainly operate only when in play but can be cast and re-cast no matter how many times they are removed. So, if designing a commander, whether a creature or planeswalker, you would want to pick cards with designs still make sense with these differences between games. And more limiting, commanders are always "legendary", which is not just a mechanical restriction, but also a flavor one. Kaiser Sea Horse and Strike Ninja are not legendary, they are generic units with no real lore to speak of. Meanwhile, named creatures with designs closely matching the planeswalker-style incremental value each turn design, like Freed the Matchless General or The Creator, were skipped over because they were never arbitrarily chosen to be made into deck masters.

    Ok, this is going to be long but I’m going to modify most, if not all, of the cards he made. I’m going to try and keeping the flavor of the cards the same and doing as small of changes as personable to fit Magic The Gathering (MTG) better. For those who don’t know MTG's color text code, here is a key: U = Blue B = Black R = Red W = White G = Green Fist is Dark Magician, A 2URB (two colorless, 1 Blue, 1 Red, 1 Black [Only time I’m giving this example.]). I give the magician Blue and Red for spell slinging and Black because he is 'The Dark Magician'. He will still have 5 loyalty and keep his -2 ability. His +2 will now be +1 and will read “Manifest the top two cards of you deck as 0/1 artifact hat tokens with reach. A manifested creature card can be turned face up for their mana cost.” This still fits the show as some times other monsters are in the hats too. The -10 ultimate ability will now be -6, and will target all opponents instead of just one, Eliot over costed this ability. Hitting only enchantments and artifacts is still strong but now it will only need one turn to set up and still not be available on cast. It is not as strong as destroy all creatures or exiling all of one card type, but most EDH (Commander) decks are still reliant on monsters. Strike Ninja Over all, he’s too cheap. That 0-cost blink is just too good for two mana. I think changing his cost to three Orzhov (Orzhov is a black/white “{W/B}” mana symbol) and giving the ninja Extort will work here. I would also change the -2 to “Gain control of target an artifact creature with mana value of three or less or a non-creature artifact.” Extort: Whenever you cast a spell, you may pay {W/B}. If you do, each opponent loses 1 life and you gain that much life. Lord of D. I just don’t think mono blue works here. Most dragons in MTG are red. The drake creature type is common in blue but they are not dragons. So, I would change the Lord of D cost and color to be 2RG or 2RR. Going mono red will put him in the right color for most dragons and if we go red and green then he will be an alternative for 'Sarkan Vol'. Kuriboh My big issue here is the ultimate ability. Instead of -7 it should be -X for three reasons. First is that you have to sacrifice “Kuriboh” tokens, nothing else will do, and second is the fact you have to gain 4 loyalty and keep all of your “Kuriboh” tokens alive (five turns min.). The final reason is that by the time you get 7 loyalty with “Kuriboh” tokens alive, and will most likely have less than three alive, you can only destroy about one or two targets. This is too little for its cost and progression. Another way to fix it is to make the -2 ability a +2 ability, and change the +1 to a -1 and target any permanent not just your opponents. The reason for the change to target anything is the deal no and take no damage clause doesn’t prevent a creature from blocking. Kaiser Sea Horse Only two small changes here, both in the +1 ability. First is to change the color from just white to white and blue. The reason for this change is that Kaiser in Yo-Gi-Oh is a light monster that is used as two tributes for a light monster. Being a blue and white creature here in a Magic card, have a blue and white cost reduction just makes sense. Last but definitely not least, Dark Magician Girl. My only change is to change the token from a 6/5 to a 5/4. This is just a personal choice. I started playing Magic back during 7th edition and a 6/6 creature was considered huge. Look at Shivan Dragon, the classic MTG dragon, it’s a 5/5 with effects. So Blue Eyes White Dragon feels like a 6/5 and thus Dark Magician would be a 5/4. Overall good card even with out my change.

    Strike ninja need the discard effect and artifact returns at the end of turn clauses. The stealing effect in red is only temporary at low mana (generally 3). Trust me, permanent gaining control at 2 is insane. -2: Discard one card from your hand, Untap target artifact and gain control of it until end of turn. If it is a creature gains haste until end of turn. (Artifacts can be creatures.)
