Do you always need to keep the plants in the house at first? Because I also want to start a balcony garden, but can't really keep all those seedlings and little plants in my house. Would it hurt to just plant the seeds on the balcony straight away?
Hey Christi! I think it totally depends on your climate and what time in the year it is, as frost can definitely harm seedlings and plants and seeds often need a certain temperature to sprout! I recommend looking into the climate zone you‘re gardening in and act accordingly :)

Hi, würde dir gerne ein paar Tipps geben zum Thema Tomaten. Dein Topf im Video wo die Tomate drin war, war sehr groß. Tomaten müssen erst im kleinen Topf eingesät werden, erst wenn die eine bestimmte Größe erreicht haben, werden sie weiter gepflanzt in ein nächst größeren Topf. Sie bilden erst das wurzelsysthem und gehen dann in die Höhe. wenn der Topf zu groß ist, dauert es lange bis die Wurzel gewachsen ist. versuch es nächstes mal mit immer größer werdenden Töpfen. klappt bei mir immer. Danke Irina! Das macht auch total Sinn! Ich hatte vorher in Würzburg nie Probleme mit Tomaten, daher hab ich das einfach so gemacht in der Hoffnung, dass die Pflanzen vielleicht zu wenig Platz hatten - aber anscheinend war es ja dann genau umgedreht! 🙏🏻
Wenn Du Bokashi nutzt, brauchst Du doch nicht auch noch Kaffeesatz. Kann es vielleicht sein, dass Du die Pflanzen überdüngt hast?
Also ich bin da schon sehr selektiv welche Pflanzen überhaupt Kaffeesatz bekommen - meines Wissens nach mögen das ja gar nicht alle! Und Kaffeesatz generell hab ich auch nur ab und an mal aufgebracht :) Bokashi Tee Düngung (verdünnt) war dann schon regelmäßiger, aber von einer Überdüngung würde ich nicht ausgehen:)
I live in berlin and have a very big but narrow terrace that you could use in theory for growing lots and lots of stuff but it occurred there's too much sun (in the last summers it has become extremely hot here in berlin) but also wind so most plants hate it and eventually die(
Ah that sounds challenging indeed!! Maybe you could do some research with plants can tolerate conditions like that and maybe install some „obstacles“ for the wind? 🤔 Good luck!! 💚

Lisa-Marie, Deine Videos finde ich sehr schön. Ich liebe, aber "kämpfe" auch mit meinem Westbalkon und 5 hohen Sichtschutz gebenden Bäumen, so dass jede Stelle des Balkons nur max. 1 Stunde direkte Sonne pro Tag erhält. Winden, Minze & Petersilie und der jap. Ahorn mögen das. Viele andere eher nicht, vor allem Gemüse. Aber ich freue mich trotzdem über jedes zarte Grün aus den Saaten. Für nächstes Jahr habe ich mir vorgenommen, mehr/ausschliesslich auf heimische Pflanzen zu setzen. Wegen des Klimas, aber vor allem der Arterhaltung. Ich freue mich schon auf Deine 2024-Erfahrungen. Liebe Lisa, ich habe mich sehr gefreut, dass ein neues Balkongartenvideo vo dir gekommen ist. Ich liebe deine Videos und auch, dass du zeigst, dass nicht alles immer perfekt läuft. Ich habe seit vorletzem Jahr auch eine neue Wohnung bei Würzburg und habe letztes Jahr sehr motiviert angefangen meine Dachterrasse mit Gemüse und Pflanzen schön zu machen. Es hat mich viel Geld und Zeit gekostet. Leider war es dann wohl für viele Pflanzen zu heiß und zu trocken. Im August haben dann jede Nacht Waschbären alles was gewachsen war umgewühlt und damit zerstört. Das war so frustierend, dass ich mich um gar nichts mehr kümmern wollte. Jetzt habe ich alles sauber gemacht, überall zwischenrein Lavendel gepflanzt, den Waschbären nicht mögen, gieße mehr und hoffe auf ein besseres Jahr. ❤

It’s difficult to not get discouraged when the garden doesn’t thrive as expected… I had lots of struggles last year and anticipate some struggles this year as well… I’m working with an east-facing balcony and only half of it gets direct sunlight so I have to be super strategic about the placement of my plants… I’ve managed to grow some veggies, fruits and flowers though… can’t wait to see your balcony this season! ❤️

I love the fact that you never gave up and kept trying despite the difficulties! This is my third year having a balcony garden and I am definitely prepared for things not working out because that is just how things are sometimes and we cannot control them. Die meisten Eisendünger enthalten wasserlösliche Eisenchelate oder Eisen-II-Sulfat als Hauptbestandteil. Eisen-II-Sulfat wird hergestellt durch Erhitzen von Eisen in Schwefelsäure und ist sehr giftig. Ein natürlicher Eisendünger lässt sich aus eisenhaltigen (kompostierten) Gemüsepflanzen wie z.B. Spinat oder Grünkohl selbst herstellen. Auch abgestandenes Bier und Brennesseljauche sind geeignete Eisendünger.

Really nice!! Does the temperature of the water matter at all? I've seen some people mention it must be 20 degrees and use a thermometer 😅 Does it matter if its lukewarm, or even cold?
Thank you! I guess it does, but I don't really take that too seriously tbh! I think the water shouldn't be super cold, but you'd probably want to google that, don't take my advice on this 😂

Oh ich weiß die Sorten nicht mehr genau, aber definitiv keine Wildheidelbeeren, sondern die amerikanischen (?) Sorten!

You can grow banana trees in Germany ? That's wild to me, I live in the tropics and they're super common here, in fact we have a cluster of like, 10 of them in our garden. I'm moving to France very soon though, so I'm gonna miss the plants from the tropical climates. I'll have a balcony in my new place, so I'm hoping I can get a few plants going even though I'm no gardener ! Strawberries are one thing I love that we don't grow here, so I'm excited about that !

For people that cant get washing soda you can use bicarbonate of soda
you need to convert bicarbonate to carbonate
I love your channel. I am sure I will learn from you. I have been growing nasturnium plants a few years now and if you soak the seeds a few hours before planting they germinate faster.

Just a thought on the squash. The shot you showed there was a lot of root disturbance occurring with already fragile roots. It may be beneficial to plant the squash without disrupting the roots :) hope this helps
