I mean, Nintendo undoubtably listens to fans. Not all the time, but they do, and that’s undeniable with the recent releases. But they’re also a business, and they don’t always take risks and let some niche franchises lay dormant. I don’t think we’re never gonna see F-Zero again or Star Fox or the like. But they also definitely let those franchises languish sometimes. And it’s not a matter of not listening to fans, it’s just a case of… they still can tend to play it safe, even when they give us these great new games. Like, sure, Thousand Year Door was huge for me, personally, as well as many others, but it’s a safe bet. It’s super widely acclaimed. DKC Returns is a safe bet because Donkey Kong is popular and the game did well. Zelda Echoes of Wisdom looks super creative and like a super cool game that gives many people what they’ve wanted, but again- it’s Zelda, so it’s a safe bet. Something like Advance Wars Reboot Camp, though, was a risk. They let WayForward remake a more niche title. Pikmin 4 did pretty well for Pikmin, and it’s a more niche franchise, plus they also gave us Pikmin 1 and 2 on Switch. They do also dip into the niche stuff and listen to fans there. I don’t want to say they let the niche series languish and don’t listen to fans for those, going back to that. The evidence is there, it’s just a matter of when they decide to get a project going for any given IP. Like, Metroid came back in a big way on Switch. They listen to fans, it’s just a matter of what they think the market wants. …And Yoshi. Since Yoshi games just kinda tend to happen and people just don’t seem to talk about them. Not that they’re not popular, they just don’t generate buzz.

I never thought they'd ever try to remake Famicom Detective Club let alone bring it outside of Japan when they did, since I saw that happen I've believed anything has a chance which I didn't in the Wii U and 3DS era. Even Mother 3 despite the amount of people going on about it being 'impossible'. How long they'll take on these is another matter entirely of course.

10:00… I feel like Fans of Kid Icarus Especially me are starting to get very Disappointed by the lack of Any sort of news on Kid Icarus Uprising getting Remastered for Switch. The long wait for it really sucks, and the Silence isn’t helping… I just don’t understand what’s taking them so long.. If Luigi’s Mansion 2 can get a HD Remaster.. then Why can’t Kid Icarus Uprising? I understand it’s important that Sakurai needs to find the right team to get the Project going Smoothly.. but all hope seems very Slim.

Yeah Nintendo does. In the switch generation alone, we’ve got: return to sandbox Mario, open world Zelda, Pikmin 4, a 3D Kirby game, a new 2D Metroid (and Dread at that) a Smash bros game with every character, Metroid Prime 4, and remakes of the most popular Mario RPG’s. We’re definitely gonna get new games in F-Zero, StarFox, and Tomadachi Life on Switch 2, Nintendo is digging into their older IP’s. The only thing I really want is a new Pikmin game that’s more like 3, but even then that’s probably gonna happen

I just find the conversations exhausting because I see everyone getting so worked up and angry about a practice that’s existed for a while. And especially for a hobby like gaming where you… don’t need to buy the games at launch. Like, sure, DKC Returns HD would be more appealing at a cheaper price, but that’s just how consumerism works- cheaper price means less money means happier me brain. I love the DKC games and I want to get Returns HD and the price really doesn’t bother me largely because I’ve wanted Returns ported to complete the DKC games on Switch, to have the 3DS levels on a home console, and just wanted to revisit the game that really got me to play Donkey Kong again. Luigi’s Mansion 2 isn’t my favorite game in the franchise, and that one I especially wish was cheaper, but that’s a me personal “the vibes aren’t there” thing, and if I really want to get it, I have a spare Switch game voucher. I’ve gotten a fair few games, actually, through Vouchers that I was just only half interested in, and the system feels pretty good for getting the games I am partially interested in for a discount. But yeah, if a game feels too overpriced, I just… skip it. Maybe wait for the holidays and ask for it as a present because why not? Regardless, I wanna close this with TTYD was a from the ground up remake (or maybe it used the original code, but they remade all the art assets) and that game 1000 percent justified full price with how pretty it looks.

I don’t even think BDSP was that bad. It wasn’t anything special, it was lackluster, if you dislike it, totally fair. I just think it was an incredibly faithful remake that deserves a resounding meh. And if ILCA are behind Mario and Luigi, cool. If not, cool again. That game looks incredible and nothing is going to change my hype for it. And I’m hopeful DKC Returns can touch up some of the things people didn’t like that they saw… but man, I’ve wanted anything new from DK for a long time now. I’m not complaining, even if this game could look nicer or a new game would be better, I’ve also wanted Returns on Switch for a number of reasons, so I’m happy I got any form of DK I wanted. Especially a form not shackled to Mario.

I'm sorry but I really cannot see how anyone could possibly justify something that is so anti consumer, it's stuff like this why companies like gamefreak or ubisoft put out so much mediocrity, because people will buy anything that has a recognizable ip attached to it I do agree that people need to vote with their wallet if they don't like something, but realistically what's that gonna do? I have yet to buy Pokemon sv or pokemon ss because they looked like terrible products to me but these games sold millions, I believe Scarlet and Violet are the fastest selling games ever despite how horribly programmed they are I also feel like trying to look at it through the business side of things just makes the company look scummier, like yes I can see why they're doing this but that could also be said for any company doing scummy shit. To give a recent example I'll use the controversy Sony faced with Helldivers 2 on steam and making it obligatory to have a playstation account in krder to play the game; I get why they did this but I'm not going to justify it, the same goes with Nintendo or any other company

Wow i had NO clue these games were going for that much now 😳 I got all of them as they released so I've got every single hard copy and trust me I am NEVER selling them, even for these prices. This series was fundamental to who I am as a person now, as silly as that may sound. I even bought a digital download of miracle mask, then hunted ebay and shops to find a physical copy I never played just to have the whole collection! Funny coincidence too, as miracle mask is my favorite!!! Glad to see people are still out here talking about and enjoying these games 💜

Shredded mine, didn’t realize it was worth up to 500 bucks! I taped the peices together and now I’m selling it for 500$ and no one’s buying it. Someone bought it for full price, and when i was about to give it to them, my dog ripped it to shreds. The guy asked where it was and I said my dog ate my slip-cover 😅. I got sent to jail for fraud and the jury didn’t want to hear it that my dog ate it, it’s the truth! I’m rotting in jail, I got 1 month till freedom!

ITs also a prequel so you don't NEED to wait until the DQ1 and 2 HD remakes get released next year so its FINE to play the DQ3 remake first.

and for SOME reason if the 2nd Trilogy of games get the same DQ6 is a Prequel the 4th and 5th games its only DQ7 onwards that are stand alone and aren't really prequels/sequels to the previous ones.
