Would like to learn more do you have a email ?? I use to race Rupp Chaparral Karts there in the 70s...And my dad worked for Rupp.. Would like to find out more about Mid-Ohio My Grandson races at K1 Speed Electric Go-Kart Track and has a youtube channel too
I raced karts in Alaska (70's-80's) with a bunch of friends, in a hugh high school parking lot. I thought we were pretty fast with our single one-speed Macs. However, not nearly this fast. But still a lot of fun with some real nice guys. Great video. Thanks a bunch!

This was awesome! As a former state and national champion (in the 90s) I friggin love the way this guy drives. He was the fastest driver on that track (easily seen in that chicane) and would have run off with it given better equipment. Probably would still have won if he didn't get fucked on the start and by the backmarker at 12:00

It was fun to see this Alex! I have run with you in Dart, but I have a stock honda. I ran that same KRA configuration before and it was very hard to get consistent lines. It felt like every lap I was learning something new.

you raced clean. a lot of drafting and your kart set up for a little more speed on long straight not much you can do except timing on being in the lead. that lapped kart thwarted your pass.

As a sportbike racer, this was bananas. I have you guys around 1:40-1:41 for laptimes, is that right? That's right around our mid-pack 600cc sportbike times. And we can clip close to 150 on the back straight. Just goes to show what 4 wheels and a really low center of gravity can do for you. Looks like fun!

Drafting him to push him down the straights. 2 karts are faster than 1 on the bigger tracks. We wanted to create a gap to 3rd.

Why the hell do you keep riding the ass of that one guy all down the backstretch at the beginning!? Instead of passing him, knowing your faster, you ride his ass like he was your lover or something. If I was on the track with you and you did that, I'd probably end up wrecking you for being so careless.

Nice drive. I raced with SKUSA in the late 90's and raced the 80 here. Not as big of a field of karts as seen in your video though...seems like the sport is doing well! It brought back a lot of great memories. A friend and I hooked up and drafted during qualifying...I pushed him one lap and he pushed me the next. We outpaced the field by a wide margin...there was a rule in place at the next long track of "no drafting in TTs" because of us haha. I went on to win the 80 main. Best of luck this season. 👍🏻
