Serious builds. Serious fun.
I run a channel where I get into the nuts and bolts of whatever I'm interested in.
Electronics, cars, vintage computers - whatever's in the workshop in a given week, that's what we shoot! I've built fast scooters, a Mars rover for Earth, and a racecar that (mostly) sticks to the track like glue.
Naturally, there's also the occasional shoot that just comes out of left field - just for fun. We've done box forts, built sand castles, and traveled all the way across China, and it was a damn good time.
I've also got some strong opinions on playground slides, which is a whole other matter entirely.

Hey, an old guy came the other day and asked me if i was interested in an old electric scooter for free. I said of course yes, and it was looking like your scooter but yellow plastic instead of the blue. Same wheels. Looked inside and same setup as yours with 2 old 12v 12ah lead batteries i am trying to revive now. Anyway, i am tempted to get a new lithium battery and i am also curious how this scooter with same hardware would react if i installed a 36v battery instead? And i also actually have a 48v battery for my electric bike wich i have bought a 60v battery for instead. HOW and what do i need to do to have this on a 36v battery and also if i am gonna try a 48v battery wich i already own? Is there some stepdown stuff i can use? I am curious about 36v straight to this scooter plug straight in, im sure you have tried it huh? How did it perform? Any tips are great welcome. Of course the cheapest tips on 36g and especially on 48v as i have that already.
Flick through my other scooter videos! You can hack the stock speed controller to run the stock motor on 36V, but it'll blow up eventually. I also explore alternatives. Good luck and happy hacking!
I have a shoes glue on my eye
Visit a doctor!
Really, you didn't think of using a longer bolt with spacers to offset the angle. 5 seconds, it took me.
Offset the angle? Hm?
There is an article on Google reporting the number of car thefts have not gone down at all since they started putting in alarms. Car theives know how easy it is just simply unhook the horns. So the kill switch really was the best idea but it came too late. And with our technology they could easily invent a app on your phone that would alert you when your car is starting. It's amazing how smart & stupid the industry can be.
I borrought a 2002 Odyssey van and I unhooked the horns immediately after they went off for no reason. I was thinking about simply running new power wires to the horns and run the wires up to my dash and install a button. I don't want to interfere with the factory wiring for fear that I will mess with the factory alarm system and will cause other problems.
Sounds frustrating. Maybe a diagram will help?
FYI the slack adjuster on a chain should be on the slack side of the chain, tht is the side opposite the pulling/load side.
Yeah, I get people telling me this every few weeks. I shall never forget now haha!
I have been told that kit works with 36 volts only
That's what we did
I got it in my eye socket though I been seeing blurry it’s my 2 day I’m panicking
Go get medical help!
How do you identify which is the fuel pump relay in the alarm box. I have 1990 Audi that was professionally fitted. Car wil crank (new battery had to be fitted) full spark but not firing so spark + fuel = bang (all timing is good). Need to check the relay in the immob has failed and I have no manual for it so how do you check which is the fuel pump relay in the alarm?
Insight, tracing wires and comparing to a factory wiring diagram!
The music overwhelms the voice, and is entirely unnecessary and annoying. Other than that, way to customize a hundred dollar beater!
Thanks! You here from The Autopian?
Cost?
Few hundred at most?
did you edit the swearing out on the failed throttle instal ?
Possibly >__>
Running vacuum from all four runners to one vacuum rail and then run MAP and break boost from it should clean up map a little and maybe even help brakes
Smart! Yeah, the brake booster was not hooked up right
how did you deal with the fuel pressure difference between the 40psi of the standard setup and the 2-3psi of the carbs ?? wouldn't the pump overpower most regulators? what did you do with the return line? I think the return line just vents under the car
I believe there was a restrictor or different regulator used.
And no, return line goes to the tank Else you'd be peeing fuel on the road
Have a 1991 Jeep Cherokee Laredo with a factory Jeep 56002467(1991) AM/FM Cassette Player and just swapped out the tape modules in two 2467 cases. Now I have me some rocking tunes. Now what I want to know is when either the left or right channel goes out what is the cause on a 2467 and on a 56009004(1992) the volume is maxed out but I still need just a little bit more volume.
Hm, that's tough! Any dry solder joints or loose wires? Sometimes twiddling the volume knob back and forth can clean it up and help too.
*WHY NOT *CHANGE THE TIRE VALVE* *IF YA AINT GOT THAT TOOL IT CAN BE A ISSUE* *CATER*
*Hey Fred,Ya Bill,We forgot to line the Valve up.Well darn it again,Drill a darn hole through it bill and we will make a extender and make more money.Uhhh,Ok* *CATER*
*But it still is a Hooky set up* *It looks like a child designed & built it*NO WONDER IT BROKE AND NEVER MADE IT A FULL MILE* *CATER*

Overvolted my razor e300 to 56 volts, thanks.
Nice one! Super fast?
@@WhatUpTKHere yes
you want to get to 40 lose some weight lol!!!!!!!!
I’m planning on putting a pair a Su HS4s on my 1.6, can’t stand the pathetic throttle response anymore. If I understand this correctly I can just rip all the junk out and bolt the carbs up with the correct manifold, fuel pressure regulator, throttle linkage and it’ll run and drive no problem?? And then at a later date I can build a something to sort out the timing.? Would a throttle potion sensor be a direct replacement plug and play for the old air flow or would I need extra circuit to get that to work. . Any etc info would be greatly appreciate, mechanical I’m fine with electronic not so much
Yeah, so Evan's set up did run without the timing circuit sorted. I can't remember exactly how Norman Garrett recommended setting it up but his book might mention how to use a Throttle Position Sensor. Might be a bit easier than the MAP sensor hack.
Ah nice, I’ll try and find the book and see what it says. Would I need to do anything else to make carbs work or can I just bolt them up and away I go ? The car is a daily so can’t have it off the road More than a day or so, I’ll fine tune and tweak etc on the go so to speak. All my other cars run carbs so tuning them is no issue
Same probelm with my Kia Carnival 2000 Tape Deck and CD player
Hope you can fix it! Challenging
I have two of these that i got from the dump for free and they both work. I wonder can i add a second motor onto the scooter for twice the power and use four battery packs? Ima try your mod first tho. Great video!! Subbed.
Mechanically complex, but doable! I look forward to hearing about what you come up with
you need metal gears
You are correct!
Instead I'm giving the robot a whole new chassis
Do you still have the radio? Looking for a screen. Thanks!
Sadly no! Hope you can find one
South Australia need to spend more time fixing the governent then working about a boat launch
Nothing to do with the government buddy
Holden or Ford ?
Check out my piece on The Autopian for the full story
I remember your older videos about the Razor scooter, I loved them and I built my own, its awesome!
Thank you! I need to shoot an update soon

@@WhatUpTKHere update: 2pm philippine time my eyez are not completely fine there's no something stuck in my eyes thanks to your tips
Are you calculating your weight?
I can hardly recall, perhaps?
Or just buy a crappy car that nobody would steal!
A lot of crappy cars have crappy alarms that stop them from starting!
THANK YOU, finally someone has the same model as me

This is unscripted right? There is just a fountain of knowledge that I don't know what to do with.
Yeah I don't script these. Just a little fact check on Google in between shots to make sure I'm not talking complete nonsense. :P
Bloody hell mate that is the king of comb-overs. Robert Robinson would be proud. 😊
What's a combover?
I have fond memories playing this game with my Dad in the 80s. He's gone now, but I've been wanting to play it with my child who is the same age I was. Great to hear a few words from the creator of the game.
Really fun hey!
did I just see this guy drinking out of a measuring cup 😂
You sure did cobber!
Insert "aftermarket" into video title.
Yes indeedy
Great effort. Thanks for sharing. I have a Panasonic KX-P1150. Liked & Subscribed.
Ay, I'm glad it helped!
It does work with chainsaw as well?
Should work with any rotating machinery, but be safe! Don't put your hands near rotating machinery especially if it's sharp!
Not european at all. But hey atleast ur enjoying ur sausage
Ha! My 2009 Hyundai Accent doesn't have a key fob OR power windows! :P
oh noes! good car though?
@@WhatUpTKHere For sure! It may be a crappy Korean ecobox, but I love it! :) It's been a very good car!
Lexus did the exact same thing in the 90’s as well with the gs300
nice! i heard someone say the late 80s 7 Series BMW had similar, too
Hi
howdy!
How many chain links did u end up with?
Oh no idea, maybe you can freeze-frame and count
Any advice on the factory alarm? My alarm going crazy since I replaced battery terminals.
Very odd! Hard to say. Are the terminals clean and properly fitted? Didn't leave a ground wire loose somewhere?
@WhatUpTKHere thanks for the response 💪 Ended up disconnecting the alarm, it's not the first time it's done that, even after replacing terminals and battery it continued ticking - even when the car was off. So I just disconnected it and having new alarm installed soon.
Lesson learned. Bought a used FJ Cruiser from a dealer who go it on a trade in. Weird, but minor electrical issues a little bit into ownership. Yeah, a year and a half later, I finally got the time to look into that weird little issue as I wanted to get it ready for overlanding and found an aftermarket alarm on my FJ. Never again. Next car will either be a one owner car from a reputable seller or new.
Ugh, that's so rough. They're always a hack job.
Thanks for this, I have 4 Mac classics that need the hard drives repairing, worth a shot 👍🏼
Good luck pal! Hope it goes well :D
