Very good player but don't be comparing him to Mbappé. Owen went to Real Madrid and was crap. For England and Liverpool, never won the biggest honors and never really got close. Had scary Pace at one stage but once that went, he wasn't same danger at all.

Very good player but personally I don't think he delivered on the early promise. Both himself and Rooney were billed as potential hall of famers at an early age same with Jack Wilshire and Theo Walcott. Certainly at international level, they were all ultimately underwhelming. Seems maybe a hype and pressure thing because Harry Kane, who came through with none of that hype and fanfare has pretty much left then all in the dust certainly at international level.

His game is beautiful to watch. Touches of genius. Powerful when charging forward with the ball, defenders can’t knock him down. He can turn the game around in flashes with lovely turns and dribbles

Lol. no it wasnt. it was a nice goal, but its not even among his 10 best goals. No idea why the English go on about that goal so much. Important goal on big stage yes. One of the bests goals ever seen? so far from it its laughable. He beats one player and then scores...thats all.

Think the defence was a lot more physical then than now. We’re many players scoring 25/30 goals. We did a lot of excellent strikers back then, Shearer, Cole, Owen, Ferdinand, Phillips, Sutton to name a few

Hasn’t been a striker like him. In his prime he was as good as anyone at that time. I remember going away to work in Egypt and all the locals there because I was English were calling me Micheal Owen 😂 because that’s what they related England with back in 2001. That’s how big he was on the world stage. I’m A Newcastle fan as well

As a Man Utd & England fan it breaks my heart still that Gazza did not join Alex Feguson in 1988 at Man Utd. I'm convinced that Fergie and Man Utd would have looked after him and stopped him getting into all the bother he ended up getting into and all the problems and injuries.
